This is a question--sort of--about firewall airbox leaks. Have an 86 CD 30 3+3 454 4x4 that has a minor interior leak in the area of the emergency brake. I pretty much know where its coming from--in the firewall seam of the exterior air box. I've already sandblasted, sealed and painted this area once before a couple of years ago, but couldn't get much access or sealant past the wiper motor mount.
So, now I have the fender off and am considering cutting hole on the side of the airbbox, or possibly just inboard of the hood hinge so I can seal this area up. Anyone with past experience on this? Been a great truck so far + don't want this to go too far as I know this is a floor killer, especially with rubber floor mats.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Eric from Oregon
