Notice something unusual? The latest candidate 6 hours away....When I finally buy something, it will have it's own thread.

The valve covers sold out that it's a BBC. 6 hours away. With a TH400. Very compelling other than the underhood decorations which continue throughout the interior.

The dream is to have something that the wife & friends will enjoy, with a clean interior & decent reliability. Don't need any excess failing china junk as in anything new, or for that matter the many hundred pounds of foreign made "snap in" adornments. Including the dealer selling your driving habits to anybody willing to pay for it. I've never had my butt kicked by any ECU/sensors...yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. I'm very comfortable (as we all are) with the larger interior and simple operation of what Detroit offered back in the day.

Visited this 100% unmolested brown & white 1977 Blazer with minimal rust, no body work & original paint. Full time 4wd however. The owner was a very educated square body man with 2ea SB trucks on his property + the blazer. The passenger side lower fender (as seen in this picture), & bottom of door is the only spot with any insulting level of rust. Clean 77 Blazer in central Texas......

Thanks for all your gracious replies! Here is a pic of one of these Blazers I've contemplating. $$ mid to high 4 figures. Seller says all it needs is a new engine, was set up for an LS I think. He's tossing in a Turbo 350. Now you can see why I'm so compelled........

Well that one looks like a steaming pile of someone else’s unfulfilled dreams, wrapped with an ok paint job that lacked prep so it’s peeling off before it’s even finished. And that’s before adding up the lack of completing anything tedious or difficult.
That said if it’s straight and rust free that’s a bonus but only to the amount of sanding off all the paint and starting over with that.
$2500 rig, IF the tires have a fresh born on date.
Buy one up here for high 4 figures and drive it back to Texas.
Projects come in 3 flavors. 1. Needs a few things. 2. Needs 100 things. 3. Needs 1000 things.
That one is about a 2.75 on that scale.
Worst part being unless the owner has about 100 carefully labeled bags of hardware he removed, you’ll have more trips to the hardware store and miscellaneous orders from LMC than Diddy has felonies….

Better start to a project than the red one for sure. Without even opening the doors.
