Need help have an 87 stepside long bed that I'm restoring and putting the bed and cab on a 78 k30 frame I placed all the cross braces for the bed on the frame I noticed I have two of the taller braces that have no place to put the longer bolts in to hold the bed to the frame was not sure if in 78 they had less holes in the frame for bed bolts

You must be registered for see images attach

i think because the frame is narrower(i think) and the frame rails are taller there is not a defined height difference like k10 and k20 would

I believe all long bed ,short bed ,step and fleet sides used a total of 8 mounting bolts 2 pair in front 2 pair in the rear. All your other cross pieces are just to attach the wood so they dont need the extra mounting holes.

well, all the sills have to be retained by the frame presumably? For wood? unless the bed itself retains the sills together and then the 8 bolts you mention which would retain the assembly?Like his issue I think is that he will have a uneven floor without modifying some sills

The sills connect to the bed sides and form a grid with the wood and the antiskid strips (top metal strips). Kind of got to look at it as the bed is its own separate assembly.
