I wasn’t going to admit being stupid but I’ve read stuff on here that saved me a lot of time and money. This will be one of my contributions to the cause.

This little P.O.S. can fit upside down and look very innocent doing so.

If the pin is upside down, the spring can’t push the pin up and contact the horn ring.

I took the steering column apart to tighten up the tilt screws. The horn didn’t work when I took it apart and didn’t work when I put it back together. So, I thought I had two problems and decided to fix the horn today. Started checking things and the horn honked. HUH? Further fiddling found that the horn contact pin was installed incorrectly by the PO. Now, all good.
