I didn't live that far North of Sac, but I did live a few months in Olivehurst and a couple months in Marysville. It was a gf's family type thing. They told me, ohhh yeah move up here, jobs everywhere, and since we're pregnant, we need a race car driver now. (The wife was the driver, husband was the Crew Chief) So come on up, find some work and lets get the car going.
Got all my vehicles to PullAPart, drove them over the scale, sold stuff for dirt cheap so I didn't have to haul it up there from Los Angeles, get there and then I'm told, we did good, we sold the race car, and all the parts, and trailer and ....... GREAT !!! So much for that dream. Now where are all these jobs. Well, Jack in the Box always has a we're hiring sign up, friend Jenny just got a job at McDonalds..... Are you fuggin kidding me? I make $21 an hour plus benefits hanging drywall, and now I moved up here to make $3.35 an hour instead of hanging rock? It was horrible. I ended up being their slave to cover our rent to live with them, and cut and split firewood for THEM to sell and make money, I got none of it. Needless to say, me and Nor Cal, don't have a pleasant history as short as it was. The worst 5 months of my young adulthood. Totally got taken advantage of.
