Do front disc brakes need the power booster and proportioning valve? My guess is yes, that's why they're set up that way. But I am not well versed in brakes.

LOL. Yes to both. The prop valve is what governs the pressure between the front and rear brakes.

The booster makes it easier to APPLY the brakes.

Cool, thanks. Looks like I have a brake project coming up. I think the left ball joint is going out and instead of changing out the ball joints, I will just replace the control arms and spindles that I have on hand that are set up for disc brakes and have fresh ball joints installed already. Somewhere in one of my sheds is the booster too. Then to add new lines and rock better stopping power.

Yeah I gotta do a brake job on my truck too... but not for awhile lol. It'll be new discs, pads and booster.
