Hello everyone. Im new to this forum and just bought my new toy haha.
Its an 1981 K10 repainted, new body panels, complete underneath has been lined.
The interior is only thing left to replace.
So it has a 350 in it, that was put in recently, i don't know much about it. It has an edelbrock intake on it, the performer. Brand new dual exhaust, plus headers. I put on a edelbrock carb (brand new) from another truck that i bought for parts.
I would like to run around the 350HP mark, im on a budget and dont want to do anything to complicated. So any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Nice looking truck, hp cost money, how fast can you afford to go. Just kidding, first thing you need to do is figure out what you've already got, and how and where your going to be driving it. Engines work best when all the parts are matched, start looking at crate engines. You don't have to buy one just copy one, all the math has already been worked out on them, just pick your power level. Hp is just a number tho even the smog era 160 hp turds had good torque and worked well in the trucks. I'd say get an interior in the truck and drive the wheels off it, see how you like what's already in there.

Alright, makes sense. I can't verify any of this but the guy I bought my parts truck (1983 c10 2wd) from says that the transmission was rebuilt 5000 kms ago and same time a drop in 350 crate installed. I guess if I took down the casting number on the engine I would learn about what it is, correct?
