Other than the only light in my dash that works is when my right turn signal is on. I replaced the headlight switch (not the knob but the electronic part) and still nothing when it comes to brightening/dimming my dash lights. All parts and bulbs are new. And suggestions? Just waiting on the piece the printed circuit, clips and gauges comes in (back ordered) and everything will be brand new. Does that piece and the screws that hold it in have anything to do with grounding?

Does the cluster have a black ground wire that runs from the wiring near the big plug, over to a post on the top of the emergency brake mechanism, or maybe to a ground block on the firewall? You must have the panel wiring grounded through this separate wire.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had mine apart, but I think that black wire just comes out of the back of the big plug, not from the cluster itself. However, also check the cluster for a separate ground wire, in case I’m wrong.

Panel lights might work now when you use the turn signal because they find a ground point through the flasher. Get a good cluster ground and many things will work better.

Well I did find a wire unplugged farther back and higher on the fire wall. I plugged it in and the only change is now both blinker lights work. The gauges stopped. Oh well. I’ll find someone close I can take it to to help at some point. Not worried anymore.
