When swapping, is this a big issue that will cause problems?

maybe i should give more info-

swapping to a v8 from a v6 and the v6 is external and the v8 is internal. It should'nt matter since everything will be replaced correct?

Flex plate compatibilty may be an issue.

Generally speaking, 86 and later V6/V8 requires an externally balanced flexplate with a 3.00 inch crankshaft bolt circle.

You must be registered for see images attach

Good info on flexplate/flywheel applications:

Hope I'm reading this right - your topic title says "going from external to internal" but text says "swapping to a v8 from a v6 and the v6 is external and the v8 is internal".

Sorry it was hard to understand- I currently have a 4.3l externally balanced motor, and will be swapping to a 5.7l 350 v8 that is balanced internally. Because the crate is up until 1985- and my truck is an 86 but they don't offer a crate that is carbed for 86. So I'm having to go from external to internal and was wondering will there be any major differences, front dress, stuff bolting over ect.

Thanks for your help, I am new to this

I thought this question was answered in your other thread, but here goes. When swapping a 4.3 out and putting a 5.7 in you will need a flywheel (manual) or flexplate (automatic), and a harmonic balancer. The motor mounts, both motor side and frame side. The pulleys and front accessorys might bolt up, they should but I'm not certain. Definetly sure the fan shroud won't fit anymore probably radiator hoses too. The v6 radiator might handle the extra heat from the v8 but v8 radiators are cheap and very plentiful at pick and pulls. The 350 came stock in that model truck so you won't need any custom parts like you would putting the 350 in an s10. It might not be a bad idea to find a truck that already has a v8 in it and study it.
