May have a bad check ball in it. Shouldnt make it hard to start though, there is always fuel in the bowl, unless thats leaking.

I'd say a bad check valve in the fuel pump allowing the fuel to drain back to the tank. Common. My 84 C20 does it bad. The truck sits for more than half a day, I've got to crank it crazy to get fuel up the carb.

Yes, then that's your problem. Eddys don't have issues with draining the fuel bowl from leaking plugs. A 5-10lb electronic fuel pump solves this problem but I'd suggest a regulator to keep strain off the needle and seat in the carb. You could also get a new mechanical pump, but this issue is fairly common and likely to happen again soon. Or you can live with it. As said, mine only has an issue if I let it sit for a few hours, so once I'm out and about it's usually not a problem at all. Just have to do some cranking for the first time of the day start up usually.

I still like see through. A good way to tell if you fuel pump is working or not. This on carbed vechicles of course.
