I have an 85 c20, factory radio. Pulled the radio today, cause it hasn't worked since I got it, cleaned it out, checked all the connections put it back in and it powered on. Here's my issue, I can pick AM up clear as day, however, fm doesn't exist. No matter how much I use the antenna adjustment screw, play with the dials, park the truck, or clean the windows, I don't have fm. Anyone know the fix to this or should I grab another radio

The AM/FM slide switch is very prone to getting electrically 'dirty' on my '84 w/cassette unit. I occasionally have needed to slide / click it back and forth multiple times when it hasn't been used in a long time.

Try using a product called deoxit on the slide. It is an electrical contact cleaner

+1 the above.

also, the am antenna is 'usually' a ferrite rod wrapped in enameled wire INSIDE the radio.
the fm antenna connects to the radio's antenna port.

i have plenty of 'pigtail' wires with that moto connector on it.

i'd try another antenna with the radio to see if that made any change.
(if you have an old wire clothes hanger, you can just connect the center conductor. or long screwdriver, etc)
a short length of bare wire can help diagnose.

the on glass antenna may be toast or the connection INSIDE the radio to the moto connector may have been broken.

good luck

Retro- sound from Crutchfield, plug and play. No cutting no splicing with adapter provided. I retained the OE speakers, sounds great! Bluetooth included

Why not pull it out and get it serviced.
