Core support Frame Bracket

So working with a 1978 K20 I recently bought, some what of a plow truck from what I was told, except the dude never washed the salt off, anyway I need one of these.

Body mount sits in it (well, not this one obviously). Are there any other options other than finding a parting out truck or finding one at the junkyard?

Im pretty sure there just riveted on, I can guarantee you will find some in a junkyard

yep all the hangers on these frames use grade 5 rivets. They can be knocked off with a cold chisel and large hammer and a few banged knuckles lol. Just reuse grade 5 or better hardware and your good to go.

You might be able to order that bracket from LMC.

I have rebuilt those before. if it's just rotted on the top. weld in some plate on the sides and top 1/8 or 3/16 works good. or replace not that hard. highdesertranger

Thanks for the replies guys, didn't want to take the rivets out just yet till I made my decision on either repairing it as is or getting a new one, I've been meaning to check LMC but I'll have to use the online catalog as I lost the actual one.

Just be warned ordering one from lmc does not mean that it will be the same as factory. Lmc has been puking out some real good garbage from time to time.

Pretty certain, the C30 and K20 will be different. And C mounts VS K mounts for that matter will be different. Due to the K series 4x4 uses the core support mount to also bracket the front leaf springs which C series 2x4 is Coil spring so it doesn't have provisions for the leaf spring hanger bracket.

Unless someone can confirm otherwise, and that would be news to me....
