Have decided to replace the carburetor on my truck after several trips to the mechanic with unsuccessful tunings.

Truck has smog can and associated tubing removed prior to my ownership.

Current carb is the stock Rochester 2SE Varajet.

Looking for a trustworthy reman seller or a swap option that won't run me $600

Found some reman carbs on ebay but just not sure of the quality I might get.

Anyone with experience in this department all advice greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I'm in Oregon by the way if somebody knows a quality carb guy out here.

Welcome aboard. Nice to see somebody working on a stocker I6. Everything is hooked up correctly according to the emissions label?Hopefully some will chime in on this. Jims86, any ideas on this?

Those two barrel carbs is good units. I do`nt know why it would be giving You problems.
A cleaning/rebuild is probably all it needs, replace the float while You have it apart.
What kind of symptoms is it giving You ??? Might not be the carb at all, could the engine be in need of a "Thorough" tune up ???

Yeah, thats a good carb. I have done a few....just half a qjet. A rebuild wont guarentee the problems go away though. Has a compression check been done? Any manifold vac leaks?

They have 2SE carbs for purchase

You must be registered for see images

I bought a Holley 1945 for a slant 6 from them. Works great.

you can either send yours in for rebuild or buy one already rebuilt.
