The two metal tabs holding the cigarette light door of my truck are broken... Do I need to replace the whole dash? Any idea how to fix it?

The whole inner bezel comes out, should have 4 screws(two top and two on bottom). The door that actually swivels is supposed to be attached to that bezel. Just pull the whole assembly out and see if you can put some rivets in it. It also has some small L shaped springs that spring load the door. If worst comes to worst, just go to the pull a part and get the complete assembly, and replace it. That would probably be the easiest fix.

Ok, I just took it apart and it doesn't look broken or at least what I thought it was the problem, isn't: what I thought were missing tabs are not, it doesn't look like there were tabs in the triangular shaped holes. Can any of you tell me if there is something missing? I suspect it is missing some mechanism when the little holes are. Any idea?

My guess is that it is missing a small rod that goes through the tiny holes in the inside part and into the triangular hole, but I have no idea what would keep it shut...
