Im looking for that list of drive shafts that someone posted.

I have a 80 GMC 3/4 ton long box. 350 motor, 400trans, 205 tcase with slip yoke and a 14 bolt full floater rear. I am in dire need of a drive shaft for it. Anyone know what would be real close for length other then another rear drive shaft out of a similar truck? Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing it's a one piece?

It's 59-9/32" long and 1980 only.

Were some of the later model suburbans that same length? It seems to me that years ago I took the two piece shaft and carrier bearing out of my '78 and replaced it with the one piece from an'88 or'89. Both were 3/4 ton.

explain to me why a 1980 has its own driveshalf length when millions of longbox trucks came with a 350/400/250

I have found that the slip yoke was positioned in the same location regardless of what transmission is used. That is why the adapters all have different lengths depending on what transmission is used, to position the transfer case in the same position. And then drive shafts very in length depending on what axle is used to accommodate different pinion lengths.

Not sure however if the 205 is in the same position as the 208?
