Whats involved in disassembling the interior 4WD lever? Its spring loaded - just wondered if there's anything special to do-not do. Mine is packed full of sht as the cover was broken and half missing. Got a new cover....but this needs pulled and cleaned out, lubed, etc.

Stupid question but if there's something not doable without NASA's help or some proprietary tools...I'll look for another complete setup.

Thx.

if i remember correctly, i disconnected the linkage under the truck.
i then unbolted the retainer (gated the lever assembly in the lever 'carrier/mount/housing).

the lever itself came out easily by manipulating the pin/spring assembly.
(spring was workable by hand)

i unbolted the 'carrier/mount/housing' to lay the flooring underneath then reversed everything.

so in short, should be straight forward, no specialized tools involved.

good luck

pic shows my flooring.
'gate' plate is removed as well as the lever itself.
