    Best radiator for towing 10k

That CU730 that foamypirate mentioned is the best buy for the money. We ditched the all aluminum radiators after experiencing chemical reactions with any coolant mix we tried. It wasn't electrolysis. It was something chemical. Only straight water was OK. In any case, we are swapping LS...

    Sway Bar on lowered Squares

Extremely noticeable! Ever truck should have a sway bar. If you want a lowered truck that behaves more like a car than a truck, you need a C30 sway bar. FYI, some aftermarket offerings for C10 pickups are the same diameter as the C30...

v-6 and v-8 crossmembers the same?

Presuming you mean for 2wd C10, yes, the cross-member is the same. The stands were located farther back in the V6, and may have been different. That said, the 4.3 is a cut down V8. You can install the V8 motor mounts and position the engine using the transmission to locate it, then the...

How to replace Tail housing bushing

That's where the o-ring is. It's about 4" in diameter.

How to replace Tail housing bushing

If you raise the rear high enough to work, with the front in the ground, you may not lose any. You will see the o-ring when you separate the extension housing. No sealant is required. The new rear seal should be self sealing.

How to replace Tail housing bushing

Remove the driveshaft (exercise all due safety measures). Remove the four bolts on the tailshaft housing (extension housing). Place a drip pan under it, and tap the sides of ghe housing with a soft mallet to rock it off. Replace the o-ring and rear seal after they install your new bushing.

any ideas on installing a auxiliary fuel tank

The fuel tank in your truck is used on both sides in a dual tank arrangement. They are less than $100 from RockAuto. Scrounge the hangers from a junkyard, add a selector valve and switch, and install a new tank and pickup. You'll have an OE arrangement that works properly with your fuel gauge...

    Aux tank usage?

See a big rocker switch on the dash near your ashtray? Flip it and watch for the fuel gauge to change.

    Dual exhaust crossmember

Mine can be installed in either, though I haven't had anyone confirm a 4wd, yet. I made it with double humps, so both pipes hang below. You can hang them really close and have about 50% of the tube above the bottom of the frame rail. I can make them flat, for exhaust over the top, if someone...

    Pull to the right?

I discovered a leaking brake fitting was causing mine to pull. It was a new line, replaced a couple of months earlier. Cold weather set in and shrinkage occurs, I suppose. A wrench resolved the issue.

    Jetting help

You need to begin with the main jets. The best way is by reading the plugs, but it's hard to get a good reading. To do so, you need a place where you can sustain wide open throttle for 30 seconds or so. Naturally, a chassis dyno and wideband O2 are safest, but a long stretch of highway can be...

    6.0L LQ4 Swap

I put an iron head 6.0 in mine. The iron heads are excellent. There is not a lot of flow increase to be had in any unported head. You only stand to increase compression ratio, with LS6 type castings (243 or 799), or reduce weight. Any other unported casting is a step back. Message me on FB...

    Cutting Front Coils

I own and operate a chassis and suspension shop. This has been my focus for nearly 20 years in the custom car and truck business. Here is the simplest summary I can offer, and there are volumes more to be sure. 1. Springs are heat treated to set the hardness of the metal. Whether coils, or...

    6.0L LQ4 Swap

There are volumes that could be written to answer your question. Short answer, yes, truck accy brackets work. I use a 2010 Camaro waterpump and relocate the idler with a little kit from Dirty Dingo. Engine mounting in a 4x4 is limited since relocating the transfer case is so tough. 2wd allow...

    exhaust pipe sizing

2.5" duals is plenty. You don't have tons of intake flow, so don't get carried away on the exhaust side. Additionally, you have a big block for torque, not rpm, so big flow will just kill all the torque that engine makes, and you will shoot yourself in the foot down low. Remember where you drive...

    Improving Ride Quality

Tires are a big part of it. If your pa Has 6 ply sidewalls, and you have 10 ply sidewalls, you can't even assess the suspension because it's the tires that are beating you up. Also, experiment with air pressure. I don't care what you think you should run. Lower it by 10 psi and see how it...
