    Dual carburetors on 250 I-6?

It's been a great swap and I think I paid about $120 for the trans at pull-a-part. The trickiest things were the trans mount and the floor modifications. The rest is just measuring and buying the right parts. I went with the Dakota version because finding the Jeep one in a 2WD is nearly...

Kinda a square, this winters project.

I've got the original 3 speed manual from my '81 C10. I know the trans is good, but I don't know if you could use the clutch and flywheel from the old straight 6. I'll make you a deal on it because it's just taking up space, but I don't know what the shipping from South Texas would cost you.

I'm almost positive that is the truck from Vice Grip Garage on YouTube!

    Cruise Control Transducer Source

I'd like to hear how you make the '98 cruise module work in the '78. That might be a better way to add cruise to a truck that never had it to begin with. No cables and vacuum lines to worry about and plenty of GMT400 trucks in the junkyards.

    Sun visor for windshield

These are the type I'm talking about: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Motor-Trend-Pop-Up-Auto-Car-Sunshade-for-Windshield-2-Pack-Car-SUV-VAN-Truck-Sun-Shade-3-Sizes/54406922 They are kinda big, but they do the job. I just squish them in there and make them fit!

    Sun visor for windshield

I have a set of those "pop up" universal fit sunshades. They cover almost the entire windshield and I just twist them up and throw them behind the seat. They aren't the best quality, but they fit.

Tail light wiring harness color meaning

All 4 wires you described (dark green, yellow, brown, light green) go from the rear of the truck along the frame to the fuse block in the cab. From there, who knows? But that doesn't matter as long as it works. The rear harness should plug in (to the plug you say is gone) and split off to each...

Tail light wiring harness color meaning

It's the same as trailer wiring, but with the light green added for reverse. dark green: right turn brown: tail yellow: left turn light green: reverse You will need to add a ground. They actually make an adapter plug that tees off and gives you the 4 pin trailer wiring out of it...

    steering wheel removal

I think that plastic is just part of it. It's been a couple of years and I don't remember exactly how all that went together. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

79 250 integrated head exhaust manifold crack

I guess I should have read more carefully! It was a long day. I do have the exhaust manifold and a relatively new gasket for it. There were a few broken bolts in it before that caused an exhaust leak and I had to have it repaired with a couple of thread inserts. Other than that, it's all good. I...

79 250 integrated head exhaust manifold crack

I have the integrated head from my '81 if you would like to buy it. I make no guarantees on the condition. All it's doing right now is taking up space in my garage. Shipping would be killer though. But might I offer a suggestion as well? Cracking is a common problem with the integrated head and...

    1984 K10 Radiator

Bolt in your upper radiator mounts and measure down to the bottom of the radiator support. If it's close to 18", you need the smaller radiator. The 17" tall radiator is the standard size and the 21" is the heavy duty one that's usually for big blocks.

    Replace thermostat without draining fluid?

Just get a clean bucket and reuse the coolant you drain out. It probably won't even be a whole gallon!

    85 C10 Parking Light Install

It looks like you have the grille and trim from an '81-'82. Those had the parking lights in the bumper and no provisions to mount them in the grille where they would be from '83 and on.

What non 73/87 parts have you swapped into your squarebody?

Only a custom driveshaft and an adapter plate. Novak Conversions makes a kit that uses the original Chevy bellhousing and adapts to the AX-15. Check out my thread: 81 C10 Six Banger

Stalls when pressing gas too fast

The new replacement filter is probably just made cheaper with the paper gasket. You should probably watch some youtube videos about carburetors to understand how they work. It could help you diagnose any issues you may be having. Then, if you have more questions, you can better describe the...

What non 73/87 parts have you swapped into your squarebody?

I have an AX-15 5 speed manual out of a 1995 2wd Dodge Dakota. It was a big upgrade from the 3 speed!

    Replace spark plugs (1982 C10 Inline 6, 4.1L)

Have you worked on cars before? These straight sixes are simple beasts once you get past the emissions stuff. Try the hardest plug first without moving the a/c bracket. If you can't get it, the hoses have some flex in them and you don't need much room to get a socket in there. You can just...

    Replace spark plugs (1982 C10 Inline 6, 4.1L)

If you have a/c on the truck it is difficult to get the front spark plug. You'll probably have to loosen or remove the a/c compressor bracket from the engine. Then with the correct spark plug socket and about a 6" extension on a ratchet, you can get the plug out of there. The number 2 plug...

Scores from DIY Parts Yards, Pull A Part, U Pull It etc

Yesterday I picked up a big block fan and shroud and a good left taillight lens. There's still a lot of good parts on the C20 Suburban I pulled from. Too bad both taillight lenses weren't good, I wanted the right side.
