There's also a video, to save you time, that shows amazon oil is almost as good as Amsoil. Google is your friend. Next post will be to see actual lab testing and not some hill billy or youtube $ wanna be.- Camar068

Help! 1991 Suburban cuts out suddenly, immediately restarts. Tried everything.
Check the wires going to the distributor. I had a blue crimp connector on mine and it would lose connection there and there. If not applicable, carry on.- Camar068

What have you done to your square lately??
Installed C.R. Laurance metal latch today. I used the old plastic as a spacer for the latch on the drivers side with original screws. Passenger side got the tab end. On the tab side, I had to use the old plastic as a spacer, but had to sand it down a hundred thousands to get the old screws to... -

Ordered replacement AC hardware and compressor and high mount for it. Received dual dash cam and metal window latch. Will pick up modified bumper w/corner steps Monday. Fingers crossed. Have a bad feeling it's gonna look like crap, but functional lol. -
Bolting 5.3 to 700r4
I don't have a 700r4. I've got a 4l60e that came with my 5.3. My understanding is the 4l60e is an electrically controlled 700r4.- Camar068

was very easy. I spent more time cleaning gasket surfaces than disassembly/assembly. The pre-made square sanding blocks came in handy....never really used them until now. -
Bolting 5.3 to 700r4
Should bolt right up. I used the dirty dingo mounts then mounted the trans to the crossmember and then adjusted the engine mount plates to that position.- Camar068

just gonna have my welder put a plate around the bottom like on the top of the bumper. It will be the same level as the ball. Nothing fancy at this time. An idea struck me today. It'd be cool to have that portion I cut out.....push inwards with hinges so it would look like a normal square... -

I'd thought so also, but seen plenty of post's on the web that say 200+ they tend to go shortly after. Cheap enough to fix though. I think it will work out......I really hope so anyway. I paid $1200 for this one at Lowes with military discount about 12 years ago. The price for a new riding... -

JD D110 started smoking a little the other day with 280 hours on it. Looks like I'll be doing a head gasket and adjusting the valves if needed. Appears to be a normal occurrence for these engines with 200+ hours. -

What have you done to your square lately??
Got some cab corner 6x9 plates. I started to use the template that came with the speakers but the spacer was a better tool. Used small magnets to hold it so i could flip it over and center it better. Easier than tape. -
K10 Steering box output shaft moving in and out
oh yeh.....no slop in the wheel currently. Just the loud pop I get when moving from the parked position. I've also sprayed white paint on the radiator support rivets and bumper bolts to look for movement. Sorry, a little history I didn't add.- Camar068

K10 Steering box output shaft moving in and out
box will be tightened shortly. How much torque can u put on the "bolts/tabs" on the box before they break? I'd like to crank the hell outta them but don't want to break the tabs off.- Camar068

Anyone ever seen the output shaft move in and out of the box? Normal? I've got a popping sound when turning the wheel which we've concluded to the box moving on the frame a bit. Frame has had the frame/crack repair to it. But, the output shaft moving in/out 1/8th-1/4" inch grabbed our eyes...- Camar068

What have you done to your square lately??
had the mufflers changed and a few leaks taken care of today. Man I miss my cheap guy. I found out why he was so cheap tho.....he's gone down hill health wise due to life choices. Anyway, world of difference with sound and throttle response (I think), we'll test it out more tomorrow. -
New front bumper and brackets
gonna guess with an old frame who knows what shape its in. The bumper mounts are all "here and there" in different directions. I'd start with keep it loose and push/shove/pry where needed to make it fit. Obviously don't bend/flex ur bumper.
