    Fuel return help needed

The return line should run to the pump just like the feed line. They are both rubber that convert to steel at the back of the engine, then back to rubber to connect to the fuel pump. I just replaced mine as well. G

    Opinions on grounds needed

I will follow the big3 and do those as well, but for the back I am thinking adding a ground strap on each side from where the lights ground to the body and chain it to the frame hopefully it will fix this issue G

    Opinions on grounds needed

I suspect it is where the rear lights ground to the bed or where the bed is grounded to the frame. The sockets are all new as I installed an aaw full harness. G

    Opinions on grounds needed

Evening everyone, just wanted to get some opinions on where I should add some grounds. I have been having some ground related rear brake/signal light issues so when I go through and inspect the grounds in the rear, I want to add some. I have 10 3/4in brass grounding straps to add for this...

    Electrical gremlin

So got a little bit of an issue let’s get right to it. So with headlights off all signals work properly. However if you turn on the headlights, the reverse lights also come on and the rear turn signals do not work. The side indicators still work just not the main break lights. Before I get...

    Sending unit/general questions

Hey everyone it’s been a minute. Well took black beauty out for a while and she ran out of gas, while the gauge read 1/4 of a tank. So we are going to nip this in the butt. Plans are to replace the tank, sending unit, fuel pump and all the rubber in between. The truck has a saddle tank that...

    LMC Parts

Just like everyone else says. Lmc for the trim and hard to find stuff, because their shipping is horrible. For the usual stuff I go with summit if they have it as most items I get next day with normal shipping. Autozone and oreillys here doesn’t even stock the copper spark plugs anymore so I...

    Seat upholstery replacement

    Kill switch which wire?

i know, I’ve read most of the other posts about these. I guess my real question is will a simple 20 amp switch hold up to the load that is supplied to the starter at crank? If not then I will just go with the neutral safety switch line. But lol I just answered my own question, since I know...

    Kill switch which wire?

So I have converted the ash tray into a max max style kill switch pic below. Just trying to decide which wire would be the best. Cool wire or starter would work or even the neutral switch. Any of them better than the others? The switch setup is 3 dpdt switched and a push button disguised as...

    Wiring harness options

I just rewired my daughters 73 454 with the aaw kit. Best decision ever, biggest difference I see between painless and aaw is that the aaw kit includes new light sockets for everything and the painless does not. Both kits are good, I had originally ordered the painless, but cancelled as the...

    Bulb and ignition switch questions

Thanks for the pic of the manual that clarifies a lot about the bulbs, but my side marker lights are different even from those listed so i will have to try to match up the ones that came out. Does anyone have any insight into the other two questions? G

    Bulb and ignition switch questions

How is everyone doing, the temperature here is finally below 100 so we can get some real work done. Vehicle is a 73 GMC C1500 and we have started the complete wiring harness install. Since all of the sockets are getting replaced, thought might as well replace all the bulbs as well, which comes...

Adding Air Conditioning in the South

The complete kit that I got has defrost abd the heater isn’t electric if that’s what you mean it uses the cooling system just like the factory heater. It is all just moved to one nice unit under the dash G

Adding Air Conditioning in the South

I have half the vintage air installed in my daughters 73 c1500. Installed everything but do not have it all hooked up yet as I am trying to finish the wiring and interior so I don’t have to do double work. As far as the kit it is pretty plug and play. No fab or anything really, just bolt in...

    Charcoal Can

I finally found a diagram for a 3 port can on autozone of all places. So for anyone else looking for this the original routing is 1 port from the fuel tank. 1 port goes to the pcv valve and the other went to the port on the front of the qj carb. So since mine wasn’t used to begin with I will...

    Charcoal Can

Hey all getting ready to put the 454 back in my 73 GMC and guess I need to address this issue. When I took everything apart the fuel line to the can was fine, but the other two lines were literally just tucked down inside the fender. Where do the two live from the can go? G
