Thanks, plan is to get the rest of the electric done on it and the concrete sealed/epoxied and save up for insulation and a few mini-splits. More of my attention will be going to the front "living" area for the next few months to get that mostly done, bonus is that area shares a full bathroom... -

Been working on it pretty much every weekend. It’s dried in and started wiring. Got the ufo led lights in over the last few weekends. Setting it up for 3 big 100” ceiling fans and a 20” wall shutter fan on the gable end. The front bay is a mother-in-law suite that several out of town friends... -
New Process MY-6 A833 Manual Transmission
3 speed with Overdrive, came out of my 81 C10. Was behind a 305 before I swapped in a LS. Clutch gave up so I replaced with a 5 speed. Operates fine but could definitely use a refresh before using. Aluminum case. Located close to DeFuniak Springs Florida, 32433 zip code. No shipping... -

I believe that tailgate assist rod was made from the mineral chineseium :D Glad you're getting to enjoy the truck. Sounds like it will be solid once you work out a few hiccups- Drauka99

Kevin Tetz has a good video on reshaping the seatbelt pockets on the rear seats to allow for some pretty wide tires with no other modifications. If that's something you are interested doing on this at some point.- Drauka99

Finished up the front sheathing on the new shop. Need to get the gable ends closed up and then vapor barrier and then windows and doors and then....... its a long list -

Started framing everything up. The middle three bays are framed for the roll up doors. 10'x10' opening on each. Those 6"x6" posts on the ends of e building are right at 17' long, those were a lot of work getting in place. All the big timber stuff is bolted down to the concrete and together... -

What have you done to your square lately??
"BETTER THAN IT WAS" Is the key part of this statement. A lot of people refuse to try stuff because " what if i mess it up", well it was messed up before... so try it and hey, you know what, it will probably be better than it was and you learned something. -

lol makes me think of, did the transmission swap in mine and about a dozen other issues with my daily vehicles popped up, got those sorted out and take the C10 out and pop the hood to show a friend the swap and realize that the slight angle change caused by the new transmission causes the...- Drauka99

5.3 LS SWAP 82 C10 QUESTIONS
What Hucked said. I will add to it that if you have the means and the space, buy a side or rear wrecked doner vehicle for the LS swap, you can save a lot on incidentals going that route and you are fairly certain it was running/driving vehicle when it was "parked". Not square body but close, GMT400. My nephew's truck has been sitting a few years and me and my brother decided to get it tuned up for him. We got the 350 in it back running and discovered milkshake oil. I called head gasket then from some other clues but my brother wanted to be optimistic... -

Got some dirt placed around the future workshop. Still need to grade it all in. Also picked up this hydraulic puller for my rear drums on my C10. Worked on one for several hours the other day and it’s pretty much welded itself to the axle. -

With the builder base you have I'm glad you looked and are throwing some bearings in it. Be a great runner till you decide to go another path. Doing a timing set and oil pump I assume?- Drauka99

saying a prayer over the exhaust manifold bolts yet? I've posted this before but I don't think I could change a LS cam and no do cam bearings. Seems to be a area prone to fail when cam swapping a well ran motor, at least from my reading it is.- Drauka99

I order online from some of the tire warehouse places and get local shops to mount and balance them. If anyone else goes this route be sure to call the shop and make sure they will do it, some local only do stuff like that certain days and some charge a pile to do it. luckily for me we have an... -

I know on my 04 when I did plugs and wires a few years ago, I was still running the factory ones. I had a heck of a time getting the wires off and there was no dialectic grease used from factory. I was getting a random misfire code and the plug boots had tiny tears in them close to the boot...- Drauka99

MY-6 \ A833 to NV3500 Swap behind LS
Also note if you are doing this swap MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SHIFT LEVER with the trans. I paid $300 for the transmission and they are regularly listed locally here for ~$500, mine didn't have the shift lever with it, I assumed I could buy one aftermarket easily because this is not an uncommon...- Drauka99

Precision windshield gasket, self locking or lock strip?
yeah I had the hook with the ball on it to open the seam a little and the plastic spoon to press the flap down in and lots of soapy water. I think at one point I went straight liquid soap. We did two rear glass windows with the gasket/seal that uses the rope to pull the seal over the pinch...- Drauka99

Dash Pad Help
I wonder if you could use a cover over the metal and then use spray foam to fill the space between that the foam filled. you would have to fabricate some standoffs and clamp it really good. I'd use the spray foam and not the expanding type to keep it from buckling the cover if it got bound up...
