Hello, slowly but surely I'm ironing out these little bugs. I went to shut the truck off the other day and it continues running. Not dieseling, but just idling smoothly, I then turn the key back to the running position and back again, I can hear the engine kind of beginning to lose a little...- gill finn

Vacuum hose Junction?
Hello, okay, I'm in the process of replacing vacuum hoses of which there are many. I'm also replacing the nylon nipples and junctions where they're needed. On the engine in front of the carburetor and it looks like it's just above the thermostat housing, there's another one of these junctions...- gill finn

Wow, thank you to this brain trust here, what a wealth of information! I'll definately take your advice and do a thorough ground check. I did pull and check all the fuses, they appear to be okay. This was a one owner truck, so it does seem to be in order in that respect, I'm just not very good...- gill finn

Hello again, I also have issue with headlights not working, tail lights are on but seem dim. None of the gauges are working, dome light etc. I'm wondering if anyone has a ballpark on what it night cost to install an entire new harness, front to back? High Idle 84 chevy C20 w/350
Hello again, well I've cleaned all around the exterior of the carb, it's looking good, I'll get some photos later. The idle seems a bit better, but all the gauges are not operating, that's annoying, also headlights as well. Tail lights do work, the turn signal cluster seems to be not working...- gill finn

Wow, thanks for the help everyone! The exterior of the carb is pretty dirty, so I'll give that a good cleaning, also yes, I thought vacuum leaks could be an issue, I've ordered some in bulk and I'll go around and replace them all. I'll get back to this thread when I'm finished and let you all...- gill finn

Hello all, my truck starts without issue and is at normal high idle, however it won't drop back down. It remains stuck until I put it in gear of course, but as soon as it's put in neutral/park, it quickly returns to its high spot.
