    Red - 84 K20 update

Pics of the new set up and spec card for the FST carb, since their site doesn't show specs. Installed a head unit and speakers while I was unemployed Jake

    Red - 84 K20 update

Update: Weiand intake and FST carb installed. due to my ineptitude to drop a distributor in led to fighting an off idle stumble/die all of yesterday. Reset the carb (mostly) and the truck is running much better. The new intake (with a 2" 4 hole spacer) is a huge improvement over the old school...

'75 K25 Front Leaf Spring Bushing replacement - bolts stuck

We always burned the old bushing out with a torch, just have an extinguisher on hand.

    Red - 84 K20 update

The truck needed a new carb and intake due to wear and tear. The Brawler 670 carb has a vac leak at the secondary shaft, and the 25+ year old Performer intake has stripped carb threads. The replacement parts, Weiand 8150 intake and FST RST+ 650 carb, were delivered today, and will be installed...

    Red - 84 K20 update

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I posted, as I have not done much to my farm truck besides drive him on the weekends. Background on the truck; He was a two owner truck that was used on two different farms in NE Ga with 74K originals miles, and a lot of Ga red clay in every crevice. He has...

Replacing exhaust manifold with headers. But which ones??

I went with Flowtech headers on my K20. Fit was decent, but I did need to dent a few tubes to make plug access easier. Jake

    1983 K20 350 SBC Upgrade Opinions

Oh yeah, the glasspacks are nice, a bit louder than I was expecting for being 23"s, and yup, Summit is the blackhole currently sucking up my fun money. Parts go on next weekend. Jake

    1983 K20 350 SBC Upgrade Opinions

Nice rig and pup! I'm in a similar situation with my 84 K20. I ordered a set of summit 165cc iron heads and Lunati Barebones 10120102LK cam kit to go with the current Elderbrock RPM intake, Brawler 670 carbm (on 1" open spacer), and Flowtech long tube headers exiting into 2.5" duals with 23"...

    Inexpensive 14x3" air filter

Nope I guess I need to state this is an inexpensive filter for the folks running an aftermarket 14"air cleaner on their gasser engines. Jake

    Inexpensive 14x3" air filter

The Purolator A63180 filter, meant for 6.2 diesel, measures 14x3, comes with a nylon prefilter, and is usually $8. Jake

    FSJ front springs...

I may have a line on J truck springs, and I'll update everyone on the fitment, amount of lift (if any), and the ride compared to stock. Jake

    FSJ front springs...

The FSJ front springs are the same eye to eye length as Square body front springs. The only difference is the locator pin is one inch forward. I have looked into the B52 kit, but it's overkill for my truck. Jake

    FSJ front springs...

So, I'm looking to improve the ride on my stock 84 K20, and slightly lift the truck as well, and was looking at wagoneer springs for the front. FSJ (76 and newer) front springs: 47" eye to eye (22.5/24.5.. moves the front axle 1" forward) Have 3, 5, 6, or 7 leaves Are arched for spring...

What have you done to your square lately??

Finally got around to lubing every pivot in the clutch linkages, including the squeaky as hell pedal. Now the clutch is butter smooth and requires a lot less effort. The downside is I have to adapt to the new pedal feel. Jake

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the wheel cylinders, and rebuilt the rear brakes. There was about 10lbs of dirt in the brake mechanisms. I doubt the brakes were changed this century. Jake

    Red forced into DD duty

Sounds like a fun little project, and I'd be happy to lend a hand and drink your beer. Jake

    Red forced into DD duty

Red has 3:73's as well, with 285/75R16 tires, so I cruise at 70 with the tach a tic below 2500 rpm. I'm in Rock Hill. Jake

    Red forced into DD duty

New turbo is in my daily TDI, so Red will go back to being the weekend ride. He covered a hair over 300 miles with no real issues, other than a leaking wheel cylinder, and returned almost 13mpg. Jake

    Red forced into DD duty

Red returned another 12.95mpg on that trip. I'm really impressed with the fuel mileage considering I need to re-jet the primaries, and dial in the timing. It probably helps that I don't use the secondaries that often. Jake

I came across this cool dam on my drive home today. Jake

    Red forced into DD duty

The engine noise was drowned out by the mud terrains. Overall, it was not the loudest truck I've taken on the freeway, but my ears are still recovering. Jake

    Red forced into DD duty

Drove 130 miles today. Red did fantastic. First leg of the trip was on the freeway running 70 - 80 mph with no issues. Second leg was on secondary roads and it was a nice relaxed pace of 55-60 mph. Jetting and timing are still off, but I'll take care of that eventually. Jake

Where to buy front brake hoses for 4" lift

I have seen folks use 2wd front brake hoses, since they are longer than the stock 4wd hoses, and cheaper than aftermarket alternatives. Jake
