    V2500 4in lift replacement? ORD?

Yeah, it has a BIT of bump steer, but hardly noticeable. That I can manage. Some of it's wandering, at least at freeway speeds, is those silly tires too, tramlining. It just WALLOWS, and rides like garbage. Hard to explain..... Oil pan interference? I think I saw ORD has two crossover kits...

    V2500 4in lift replacement? ORD?

I assume you mean the wheels? Why does everyone focus on that? Yes I know they're hideous. Some dumb kid bought them, they're what came on it. As I said, it's getting a dually conversion, so it's gonna have SIX different wheels and tires soon enough.

    V2500 4in lift replacement? ORD?

Backstory.... Having just gotten the wife's Burb back on the road after it's Winter refresh, I drove it to work last week...... and jeebus does it drive like a pig. lol Yeah yeah, lifted square, I don't expect a Cadillac, but dang. It STEERS fine (new Redhead box, all new tie rods, replaced the...

    Busted rear shock mount

If it were me? I wouldn't just try to weld what's there back together. Probably just break again. At least put a plate over it. Dill the hole in your reinforcement, grind that old surface clean, pop a bolt in there to keep it lined up.... and go to town. Might need a longer shock bolt?

What would you pay for this truck?

For that price? No way. lol Double the price and you'd be in shortbed territory around here. Most of the short beds I see though are either way butchered up, someone with not enough cash and less brains thought they were being cool, or they're super clean but way expensive. I also am quite...

What would you pay for this truck?

Always a trade-off. We have like the 2nd or 3rd highest gas prices in the nation, and taxes to match? It's ok..... I'll take all my trucks with me when we move. lol

What would you pay for this truck?

    I mean, my $2500 C10 daily? :D

What would you pay for this truck?

To be fair, that's also a 3/4 ton. Not that I agree with the notion, but I've noticed they're cheaper around here, than a similar C10. Probably add what, maybe $1,000, for a C10 in like condition? Pretty solid looking K10 showed up in one of the neighbors driveway a few weeks ago. Original...

Auto wiper lifters to save edge

I mean.... I just replace them. I see you're in WA too. Definitely a wear part. Never had a set of wipers last more than a year, or at least work well for more than a year, on any vehicle.

Hood Adjustment - Front Needs to go Down

Seriously.... don't do it. lol I DID get it on there, but had to feather out some paint chips in the cowl and the hood edge, and bust out the airbrush after. :( You can do it on the stock hood, so I didn't think about it. The overhang on the cowl hood makes it a whole new game.

What would you pay for this truck?

Wherever someone is shopping, geography wise, sure seems to make a difference. Around here, for $500-1000, you get a halfway decent roller, with no engine or trans, or a truck that's "missing" the title. Then again, I picked up my C10 for $2500, but I suspect that's because it being a diesel...

What have you done to your square lately??

Hahaha Thanks. It looks GREAT from 20ft. First time painting a vehicle for me..... but good enough. Wife is happy, so I'll deal with it. lol

Hood Adjustment - Front Needs to go Down

Nice. Always good when things start working right. lol MUCH easier if you have a buddy or two to help fit it up. I also had to whack a couple spots with a rubber mallet on ours, but now that it's painted, I'm not doing that anymore. lol Be sure you get your hammer massaging done before you get...

    Why did GM do this???

What's funny, is I just spent the last three days under the wife's Burb. I happened to glance at the trans crossmember, and had a horrible thought. I knew the previous owners had the trans rebuilt, so I cringed, and then sighed with relief...... yep, they put the right bolts (and those spacers)...

What’s the best way to fix/clean up this wiring problem?

You know, I used to do that, but gave up on it. A couple of broken solder connections on cars, and realizing there's very little solder connections in the aircraft wiring I deal with (high vibration, solder joints fail, or the wire breaks where it goes from stranded to solid/soldered)...... I...

What have you done to your square lately??

First bath and a quick coat of wax. Tightened up the last few bits and pieces to go back on, stuck the Chevrolet emblem to the rear door (Glad that came off the old door ok. Apparently nobody reproduces that emblem) and it's officially back on the road! :) Well, at least it made it to the gas...

Hood Adjustment - Front Needs to go Down

AMD hood? Scratching my head on the cowl we put on my wife's burb too. Sits perfect..... until I install the rubber bumpers that fit in the slots in the fenders. They hold the hood up. Removing all but the front two, it sits BETTER, but the front is still a tad high. With all of them removed and...

Hello from Vancouver, WA / Portland, OR

Welcome. If you're every hunting for a part, there's a guy just to the North of you, in Battleground, who has acres of squares. That's his business, and I've gotten a couple things from him. Nice local resource to have. Chad the man/Squarebodyranch I think it is? I found him on facebook.

    Harbor Freight Table and carts

Harbor Freight has really been upping their game the last few years. I have one of their older service carts in my little shop. Works, but the drawer slides suck. lol I have one of their 52in? Series 2 boxes as my toolbox at work, with their side box added. GREAT toolbox for the money. Got it on...

    Exterior moldings

Maybe not an issue with trim, or as much of an issue, but the new hood I got from AMD, the shipping charge made sense. They packaged the hell out of that thing. Twice. Two boxes, the inner isolated from the outer. I still opened the box while the truck driver that delivered it was there so I...

K5 almost killed me brakes to the floor

Sounds like it's too late, you already swapped the master cylinder...... but don't be like me. I replaced the leaking master on the wife's Burb with a NAPA part. This was before I had heat in my shop, and I was in a rush. I took one look at it, cursed lousy replacement parts these days, and...

    Turn signal switch

Thinking about it, double check your brake switch. Same filaments used for hazards I think? An issue there could cause problems too. I’d start with the plug on that turn signal switch though, verifying you got it wired right. Maybe someone has a pinout/wiring diagram handy?

    Turn signal switch

Hopefully you didn't put the wheel back on already, that's frustrating. Had a similar issue with my CJ5. (Saginaw column, fun mix of GM parts in there, the turn signal switch included) Granted, it sounds like you could possibly have some wiring issues, having spiced it? Anyways..... there was...

    1976 C30 dump - wheel cylinder

Should be able to. Every job is a broken bolt away from a weekend of pain though. lol I think they're studs, pressed through the axle housing? Haven't gotten there yet with my D70. Soaking those nuts and the bolt for the wheel cyl with the hope I don't swear as much later. Have you had your...

    1976 C30 dump - wheel cylinder

No idea what year it is, came out of a round headlight square, (no telling though) but the DRW D70 thats in my shop mostly torn down...... ya gotta yank the axles and Hub/Drum assembly anyways, if you wanna get to the wheel cylinder. Your drums slide off, separate from the hub? Oh, and welcome...
