    1977 Suburban C20 Scottsdale

We are unfortunately going through a hard time as a family. My wife has been fighting cancer so Mabel, my prize suburban is being sold. Have put a lot of love into her this year and wanted to keep her forever, but now I have to make a move. Below is the post I made on FB Marketplace, so I am...

    Big 3 Upgrade

Thanks so much. Yeah, my truck is un messed with and in great shape, and the wiring looks to all be in great shape. Don't plan on adding much to it electrically, but would love to make sure my lights don't dim and have the ability to go to the electric fans with no issues.

    Big 3 Upgrade

Thanks for the info. So you are saying leave the current wire from the alt to the bulkhead connection, run a new one directly from the alt to the battery positive, and another fused connection from the battery positive back to the same bulkhead connection? Just clarifying before I start cutting...

    Big 3 Upgrade

Looking at going to a bigger alternator for Mabel and would like to do a big 3 with it. Going to add electric fans and want to make sure I am good power wise. But had a question. Every post about the big 3 has the positive going from the alt directly to the battery, but on mine right now it...

    Hidden Stereo

You can pick up the Delco 8 tracks for under $50 on eBay. That is what I did. If you have any questions, let me know. I love how it works. Sounds so nice. Heck yeah. I have about 10 different Waylon 8 tracks. He is my favorite. I also picked up 3 Willie 8 tracks on eBay today. All still in...

    Hidden Stereo

It is from Duplicolor. They have the stock colors for GM (this one is Cordova Brown). Ordered it at O'Reilly's. It looks good for stuff like this. Definitely not an exact match, but then again, the other paint is 46 years old, so matching that with new paint perfectly is impossible. Since it was...

    Hidden Stereo

I posted this in my build thread, but figured it may be something people looking in the stereo section would like to see, so here is a video of my hidden stereo build.

    Question about dash speaker hookup

For sure the way to go. I just redid my stereo and replaced all the speaker cables. That old wire is tiny and you never know how corroded it is deep down in the sheathing.

    Here's one... Burban

Well thanks for the vote of confidence @Grit dog . haha. Exactly what I did. Bought mine in Iowa. Flew up there from Florida and drove it home. Checked a bag with tools. Didn't need them, but glad I had em in case. You just gotta be willing, and make sure the seller is willing to go the extra...

    6×9s

Yeah I am installing a pair of 3.5” infinity reference speakers in the dash today in place of the single 4x10. I am all in on infinity. Have used everything out there and think they are the most musical and best sounding speakers out. If you buy on Amazon they have a bunch of them in the Amazon...

    6×9s

Go with the Infinity Reference speakers. They sound incredible, and don't have giant magnets. Should work. They are also 3 ohms, so you get a little more juice out of your stereo.

    Replace idiot lights with gauges.

Does anyone have a pin diagram for a 77 gauge with dummy lights and a 76 gauge with gauges and mechanical oil gauge? Wanting to see if I need to repin it in the exchange.

    Replace idiot lights with gauges.

I have the gauge but definitely want one of those tubes with the fitting to match up. Would you be willing to part with one?
  20. imjohnny

    Replace idiot lights with gauges.

Yeah, from what I am reading it is called a capillary tube. Trying to see where I can buy one right now. Would like to use these gauges. They are in great shape, and I have them here. I would guess the tube goes into the same spot that the sender goes in place of the electric sender, but not...

    Replace idiot lights with gauges.

I was wrong. The oil is mechanical on the 76 that I got. Not electrical. How would or can I hook that up to my system?
  22. imjohnny

    Replace idiot lights with gauges.

Yeah, I figured I would be repining some of the connector. Where did you get the pin/wire info at? Can't find it.

    Replace idiot lights with gauges.

Voltage Yeah I am seeing that. May be a bit of trial and error I guess.
