What have you done to your square lately??
Cover that open engine up with some valve covers and carboard in the valley area. Asking for trouble down the road if debris gets in there. As a retired Nascar engine builder , makes me cringe just seeing your picture . :eek: -

98' Vortec Block, Timing Cover and Balancer Spacing Questions.
You need a .093 spacer to replace the reluctor wheel, to use the original damper for proper belt alignment . The bottom crank gear should be bottom out on the crankshaft, no space behind it...- stroker2

Are rubber valve cover gaskets JUNK? Pic inside
FelPro # 1604 5/16" thick gaskets ( perimeter bolt heads ) . Also i would get a set of the wide valve cover support bars . Valve cover to intake runner interference is very common, normally there is enough material on intake to remove for clearance. Pre fit to check interference ,modify , then...- stroker2

As a former NASCAR engine builder doing 450 plus engines a year , 3M weather strip adhesive was the preferred method to glue FelPro double cork metal reinforced gaskets to the covers . Never use RTV . Using the mention method you can remove covers ,set valves if needed and reinstall without...- stroker2

FelPro cork gasket are the best , glue them to the covers with 3m weatherstrip glue .. No sealer on the heads Rubber gaskets are for the trash can .- stroker2
