    Fuel gauge

How hard is it to swap out the fuel gauge in the cluster? My truck is a 1982 GMC.

    Craziest antitheft idea yet.

When I was a kid and traveled with my Grandpa, he would leave the windows down, $100 dollar bill on the dash and Blackie his Doberman in the cab. Made many trips across the US in his 82 GMC, which is now mine. No one ever bothered the truck. He cracked me up doing this.

Question on where to get a 6.2 fuel line feeding the lift pump?

I just used regular fuel hose on my 82 GMC. Worked fine.

    Fuel sending unit

I just need to know if the sending units are the same between gas and diesel. I'm seeing different part numbers between the 6.2 diesel, 454 and 350. But the tanks are all the same. 20 gallon dual side tanks.

    6.2 to 350 swap

    Hood latch

    Great idea!

    Hood latch

Well, you are correct, it has survived. I spend a lot of time up in the mountains and can only carry so many tools. Just the fear of it breaking and not being able to get under the hood. So if it did, how hard is it to get the hood open?

    Hood latch

Curious if there is a way to get rid of the cable hood latch in my 82 GMC and just have the reach through the grill type to open the hood. Also curious how one would open the hood if that cable was to break? Don't think it would be easy.

    6.2 to 350 swap

Well if you get there, let me know what you figure out. I most likely won't get that far this weekend. Still have a few little things to get done with the new engine. Thanks for the help!

    6.2 to 350 swap

Thanks! I guess I will cut them where they branch off and just save the ends in case I ever go back.

    6.2 to 350 swap

Both glow plug wires? There are 8, green wires. Or did you cut off at the start of where they branch off to 4 on each side and use those? I did not know they were constant ignition power? I want to keep wires intact in case I go back to the diesel.

I have seen them plugged with bolts or plugs on other vehicles.

    6.2 to 350 swap

What wires did you use for power from the original harness?

    6.2 to 350 swap

Curious what wires you used for power from the original harness? I'm at this point now. Need power for the HEI and electric choke. I'm not removing any of the 6.2 harness just incase I ever go back. Thanks!

    700R4 question

Thank you! Exactly the answer I was looking for. And I guess I should have added more info.It is wired to lock up the converter when the switch is thrown. Truck is a 1971, so not a factory setup.

    700R4 question

I have no need for a wiring diagram, found plenty. I just simply wanted to know when to use the switch. This is not in my truck, but in another one I own. And it is gas, a 327. There is always a smart ass in every group. A simple answer or a pass would have worked.

    700R4 question

Can you elaborate on the second paragraph?

    700R4 question

When running a 700R4 with a converter lock out switch on the dash, when would that switch need to be on? Thanks!

    Fuel tanks

I need to pull both of the tanks in my 82. What is the best way to go about doing this? Drop the tanks down, or jack up the bed? Or? Any advice appreciated!
