Sm465 clutch fork has massive amount of play

True. It can really mess up the cab/bed transition too. I have this problem. I was under the impression that this just recently started, after having someone service the transfer case. But at this stage of a squares life, it's time to consider changing the bushings out, using the reasoning...

208 Transfer case Whines? "Pitch changes when I grab the shifter"

'Repaired' stuff shouldn't whine, especially with slight pressure on the shifter. Have your shop go on a test drive with you and explain it. That's where I would start, because the "fix" most likely starts with removing the recently repaired unit for inspection. Unfortunately. As far as what is...

What have you done to your square lately??

Yup, exactly what I have now. I like 'em I have some torn skin on my doors to address from these mirrors but for a working truck I like 'em. Heat would be handy...

What have you done to your square lately??

When you need it, it's worth twice the price. I didn't realize that was available since I haven't gone that far down the rabbit hole procuring parts, yet. I am going to check into a set, thanks for pointing it out.

    Compression test

I would be considering another long block at this point if it were me. I don't have time to fiddle fart around trying stuff for the sake of trying it but discovery is fun too. Disassembly should show the why soon enough.

Lowering my 1977 Shortbed and found

There's a guy up in Battleground who is on FB that sells square parts that might be able to help get a set easy peasy. Oregon Auto Spring can set you up too, but at a new price. There are guys on here who are helpful too, maybe they can help you get a set, but shipping is the killer, road trip...

Lowering my 1977 Shortbed and found

Oh boy, a fools lowering kit. Ditch the springs and do it right with proper spring front mount and appropriate shackle. That's some sketchy chit right there. You are correct questioning that.

pulls to right quickly if you let go wheel, zero tire wear for 18yrs.

Toe out sir, toe out. Toe in eats the outer edges. A pull is most likely a camber and/or caster inequality. It is hard to tell inboard from outboard on those pics.

    Securing Load

A rubber mat would hold all but the most naughty driving. Roll it up and stash it for the show (or use as a temporary floor under the canopy), put back for the ride home.

What have you done to your square lately??

Won't some penetrating oil loosen it up? You would be surprised what can develop surface rust and how little it takes to gum up the works.

    towing rig

Commercial driving has certain baseline expectations to keep the DOT & insurance folks from weighing your wallet. Try and sidestep things and when you get nailed it will be hard to recover. If you want to make a small fortune in trucking, start with a large fortune. It isn't Shipping Wars.
