Speedo cable length for 81 c10 6 cylinder saginaw

I just bought one from O'reillys and it was the right length. Works great and was only like $13. You might give them a try.

    Trailering your square body

Make sure that you have good tires on the trailer. Load it up and go. It sounds like you have a good truck for the job. Take your time and tie it down good, so it doesn't bounce. Hope for the best, be ready for the worst. Do it now, before it gets too hot, and it will be easier on you and your...

    K20 454 truck engine build

Don't "over cam" it. You will be happier in the long run with something on the "smaller" side than something real long on duration. Melling MTC 6 (good old fashioned RV cam) looks good for a 4 x 4. The "268" advertised duration cams would be the "biggest" that I would use. Off idle grunt, up...

Remove accessories from this old truck?

The suburban looks good, the yellow truck is a little bit impractical. I'm not sure which vehicle you are working on or asking about.

Power steering fluid .. what type ?

I guess that I learned something on this one... I don't have any classic vehicles with automatic transmissions, so I will stick with the power steering fluid. Thanks for the education.

Power steering fluid .. what type ?

I use power steering fluid for power steering. I have had bad luck putting ATF in power steering pumps. There must be a reason that they call it power steering fluid and the other one is called automatic transmission fluid. The front of the container tells you which fluid goes in which system. I...

    distributor removal

It makes it easier to put back together. Like Hucked said, that is a good thing to start with, before you pull the distributor, put it on TDC, or at least real close.

    1981? 350 in a C20 - Vacuum/sensor questions

Vacuum advance, heater, pcv, brake booster. That is about all you need. All that other stuff is basically ways to regulate the advance and warm air, I think. Lots of little parts to replace, if you have to have them.

    Wiper Blade size

I use the ones that the book says at the parts store. It rarely rains here, so I never gave it much thought beyond that. They usually just sun rot and when it does rain, you have to look through a spot that they miss, or go buy new ones. But next time, I will think about some longer ones, maybe.

95 Chevy water in passenger floor board

Heater core. Mine was dripping out of the bottom of the cab. I had to loop the heater hoses... for now... Its warm enough, no heater necessary for another 6 months. The carpet is dry but kind of oily now.

    edelbrock avs2 650

I have to pump mine about 20 times to start it cold. When it is warm, usually have to pump it a couple of times. It's not fuel injection. 1406, Edelbrock pump, air gap intake. For some reason they just wont hold fuel. I guess it evaporates. So I would say that yours is "normal".

    tighter steering

If you think a C20 is hard to turn sharp, you should try a K30 with a Dana 60 front axle... It makes a K20 seem like a sports car. Like Hucked said, Nature of the "Beast".

New to Square Body Trucks, not trucks in general

Welcome. What are you wanting to do with it, work truck, daily driver, show truck? I dont have any experience with fuel injection wiring, but if you can get it straightened out, it might be worth keeping on there. How does it run?

    Top Radiator Clamps

There is a few different sizes of radiators for these squares. Height and width differences. Brackets, shrouds, hoses, hold downs... dont forget the little rubber saddle things that they sit in... There is more variables than I ever thought there could be.

    Top Radiator Clamps

On my '85 big block, with the tall wide radiator, it is one solid piece that holds down the radiator. What radiator do you have?

Want to build a good horsepower, good fuel economy engine for a 1978 c20 with stock 350. I don't know much and need help.

The place to start would be a good compression test. You need to determine if the engine needs a rebuild before you add a bunch of stuff to the outside. Assess what you have and determine what you want it to be in the end, as well as what your budget is and do the math and go from there.

Want to build a good horsepower, good fuel economy engine for a 1978 c20 with stock 350. I don't know much and need help.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like he needs a LS motor. I think those parameters are the reason the small block chevy GM developed into the LS. I am a SBC fan, but power, mileage, and "cheap" aren't really achievable.

    Roof lights

Well, it looks like you better put some kind of lights on there, just to cover the holes. Probably not factory equipped with roof lights. The wiring should be coming out of the holes. You can probably find some aftermarket lights and screw them on and hook up the wires and you are good to go...

    Roof lights

My factory roof lights on my K30 have a big hole, under the light, that the wiring comes through and threaded holes for the screws. What does the roof of your truck look like?

    86 c10-silverado

If you have all or most of the original truck brackets etc... that bolts to the motor it should be a direct drop in. Start by cleaning everything up real good. Fix all of the obvious leaks on the 350 and gather up everything that you think that you will need, before you start. It will take...
