Fuel Lines and My Small Block

Almost ready to fire mine up and have a question about the fuel lines on my '83 C10. I put a new fuel tank and sending unit in before I bought the engine. Now that the engine is in I remembered that the sending unit has two fuel lines coming out of it but the engine only has one gas inlet. The...

Anyone have these 250 motor mounts?

I don't have the parts for the engine but I do have the frame brackets and brand new rubber mounts that I did not use on my 283.

What did you pay for a square

In 1982 I bought a brand new C10 with 6-cylinder and three on the tree. Many years (and too many computer-oriented vehicles) later I found my current C10 sitting in a field with a For Sale sign on it: $2500 but was about to get off with paying $2250. It had decent tires and rims on it, a tired...

    Elementary Question About Rocker Panels

Ah... that's the reason I asked before going any further. I still need to sand and paint the fenders but I can put them on, mock up the rockers and tack in place. Thanks for the response!

    Elementary Question About Rocker Panels

I've done my share of body work and rust repair on semis but this is my first square body. My question: do I need to leave the fenders off while replace the rocker panels? I've entertained the idea of bolting the fenders back on but something tells me that may not be the right way of doing it...

I'm in rural part of Florida. Where are you?

    Age of our members

I'm 71 going onto 18 according to my wife. Owned a brand new '82 C10, 6 cylinder with three on the tree as it used to be called. After railing about computers in cars and trucks I told the wife I wanted something with NO electronics in it, she agreed after seeing the price of parts for doing my...

What have you done to your square lately??

Been working on honey-do projects like painting our shed and building a new chicken coop so Old School has been on hold. Sorry for the nasty floor but we had one of our famous Florida rains last night. UPS man brought new patch panels for the inner outer rocker panels from JL Fabrication in VA...

    Fender Bolt Thingies

Bolt is too small but looks good for when I start on the rest of the rust, I mean the cab.

    Fender Bolt Thingies

Cool, I'll go out and check the new replacements. Bought a front-clip from a guy so these 'should' still be there. That's for info about adjustments.

    Fender Bolt Thingies

Looks like #15 is the part for the square hole, then 14 is the bolt. Thanks!

    Fender Bolt Thingies

The other picture I just posted shows a clean hole, I didn't cut any welds. Once I cut the lower bolt in half the rest fell out onto the ground.

    Fender Bolt Thingies

Don't think so, both were rusted bad enough that Blaster wouldn't help. Fenders are shot so I cut them out to keep from messing up the cab itself. This is picture of the square hole that this thing fits into and I think it has a sort of a spring attachment to hold it in the square hole.

    Fender Bolt Thingies

Anyone know the proper name and a source for these? They are the ones under the front fenders, sort of a clip thing that hold the nut in a square hole.

    Advice on fixing some rust/holes

I've repaired a lot of semi-truck cabs that were used to haul fertilizer, the only way to really stop the spread of the rust is to cut until you run into good metal. Otherwise, you'll see bubbles sooner or later come up under your paint work.

APB - Check your cowl seam seals!

Thanks for the tip, just starting on mine so I'll definitely be removing the cowl to look down inside. While I was in process of replacing the six-cylinder with a V8, I took the time to fix this rusty seam.

    Motor Mounts on Old School

Okay, point one: removing inline-six and replacing it with v-8 (small-block). Point two: the frame has two sets of mounting holes for the mount. My question is: use the original holes or the upper ones shown in the pictures? I almost want to say to use the upper ones due to the additional width...

    First square body

If I'm not mistaken my (new in "83) was around $6,000 for a plain jane, six-cylinder with three on the tree. Course 6k was worth a little more back then. I paid $2250 for the one I'm working on now and it's in rough shape but it'll smooth out in time. Part of the fun is the bring it up to...

    First square body

Welcome from Sumter County Florida. You'll love the truck. I'm on my second one. First was brand new in 1983 and now I have another '83 that's definitely not new.

Anyone dealt with LMC Trucks for parts?

I did contact right after I ordered because their website was not allowing me to enter a mailing address that was different from shipping. We live out in cattle country here in FL and PO does not deliver to us, everything goes to PO box. They wanted me to call but I told them I was deaf and...

Anyone dealt with LMC Trucks for parts?

They contacted me and said my first order (exhaust system, about $350) was over $150 so it triggered a fraud alert on their site. One of the support people said this: "As part of our fraud prevention policy, I am required to verify the billing address. Our system doesn’t verify the billing...

Anyone dealt with LMC Trucks for parts?

Picking up the replacement engine tomorrow so I ordered an exhaust system from LMC Trucks today. Converting single to dual exhaust. They want a copy of my monthly CC bill and a picture ID before they'll send the parts. I do a lot of online buying for our company and personal use, never have I...

What's a running 250 engine worth on the market?

I've located a V8 to put into my '83 and am wondering what the 250 is worth to those seeking them? The 250 runs but I want something I can work on that isn't so hard to find parts for. I don't want to junk a running engine nor do I want it sitting around gathering rust either. The engine I...
