Best media for blasting the body
If available slurry blasting is preferred. Water keeps metal cool. Some media will not remove rust if that is an issue.- fast 99

Engine lift points
2nd picture is a factory lift bracket. Never used them. Usually used an intake carb plate. If your buying one get a plate with 5 lift holes not 3 if you can find it. The 3 hole plate balances the engine but usually having engine front higher is better. I use the second hole on a 5 hole plate.- fast 99

AC redo after sitting disconnected for a long time
For simple and cheap get a drier, add oil as required along with dye, suck it down see if it maintains vacuum. If it does charge it. Chances of that working aren't good, but you never know. Compressor seals will be dry along with every other seal or hose needing replacement. If dye is added at... -

No resistance in reverse, drive feels like I'm pushing against the brakes
Not near as much braking in reverse. Smaller front shoe and different material. Yes, jack it up and check for dragging or short drive and a heat gun. Be sure to check emergency brake cable movement. They will sometimes stick and apply the rear brakes.- fast 99

1987 R10 305 Belt replacement
Tension by feel. There are tools to measure it but never had or used one. Just get them reasonably tight, should only be able to deflect belt with pressure a 1/2" or so midway between pullys. If the belts are too loose, they will let you know. squeal- fast 99

Problematic Starting - rotate crank before starter engages?
Bad starter drive gear plus starter engagement is rough and noisy. Have been through this countless times on customer cars. Only way it will ever work and sound right is a new ring gear and starter. EFI conversions
They are a little more involved to rebuild and require specific tools. If set up correctly they do work well and adjust for wear and age unlike standard carbs. Might be hard to find someone that is experienced and willing to spend the time to do it correctly.- fast 99

Replace seals on power steering gear box on truck or bench?
The second pitman arm shaft seal is not very accessible. Can drill it and use a slide hammer. Really isn't much more work to take box out, working upside down isn't fun.- fast 99

Are you sure it's rich? Does it burn your eyes that would be lean. Check fuel pressure should be no more than 8 lbs actually closer to 5 or 6, is choke opening and if not does it need or have 12v power? Did you adjust the idle mix? That cannot be set correctly on the bench.- fast 99

When draining oil look for metal particles. If present, you know what's wrong. If ok, pull valve covers inspect for loose or broken parts. If vacuum gauge is available hook it up should be steady. It is also possible a chunk of carbon got dislodged, usually will quiet down if that's the case.- fast 99

Can't get rid of bog
Easy to diagnose, install a vacuum gauge to manifold vacuum. Under a load will decrease to almost zero or loosen header pipe, drive around the block.- fast 99
