    What is this?

Power for High Speed on the blower comes from here and through the blower relay. All other speeds are fed directly from the blower switch, then through the resistors.

Rear disc conversion with hydroboost system

When I did my K5 with caddy calipers. I used this master. Dorman M39052 Brake Master... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PYNXLI/ Direct bolt on to the hydroboost. Went back later and swapped to the PV4 combo valve (disc/disc) after a few drives in the rain and the rears locked up prematurely...

Looks like it's time to part with one of my squares

Down here in TX they’re quite valuable. The 77 C10 I’m working on at the moment (for a customer) was bought for $10k a few months ago. 100% stock other than it’s been lowered with wheels and tires. Rusty, rotted, but looks good in pictures. Tired 305 and TH350. I can’t believe he paid...

    LS swap transmission choice

Using the Advaced Adapter between the 4L60e and the mount in front of the NP208 will give you a very reliable VSS and allow you to keep the cable speedo out of the xfer case. It will also allow the crossmember to be retained, as well as stay in the stock location. I don’t know what it cost...

About to ruin one of the nicest C3500's with an Ls.. Pictures

The dampers that change airflow from floor to dash to defroster. These are vac controlled. The old truck should have had a “black ball” connected to a vacuum line between the engine and passenger side firewall. Without that vacuum source, you vents will only blow out the defrost I believe. And...

    Help with wiring!

I don’t see a missing ground preventing the engine from shutting down. Plus there aren’t any grounds coming through the bulkhead. Truck will start fine, but can’t shut off the engine, if the headlights are on? HEI distributor? Single wire from bulkhead to distributor, usually pink and fairly...

About to ruin one of the nicest C3500's with an Ls.. Pictures

Did you already make a bracket for the old AC compressor? Is that the old 75 pound compressor that takes 75hp to spin? I’d swap it out for something like a Sanden. They take like zero hp to spin and are rated for atleast 6000rpm. Not to mention all the nice brackets and fitting available...

    LS swap transmission choice

My buddy just used one of these for an A4ODe (I think) swap behind a 400M in a 79 Bronco. Works flawlessly.

1986 c10 Steering column. does it matter what trans you have? going from TH350 to 4L75e

I’ve done several swaps to 4 speeds. It will use up all available column stroke but it has always worked. Like another user mentioned. Loosen up the bolt that secures the rod, Put Tranny in 1 and set column all the way down to 1. Then tighten the jamb bolt to the rod. If your pivot ball or...

Opinions Needed on Square Body Gauges LS Swap

Yet another vote for DD. I’ve installed a few sets now. I did mine before the Ls swap and obviously kept them after. I just wish I would have remembered to add the cruise control input to the DD during the Ls swap when I added cruise. Spend the extra $100 and get the OBD2 BIM module. You can...

    LS swap transmission choice

Factory shifter should work just fine. Won’t need the PN switch as it was built in to your column. TCC brake switch should already be there also. With the VSS before the xfer case, your speedo won’t be accurate in 4Lo but Tranny will shift normal.

    LS swap transmission choice

I used the advanced adapter for VSS when I swapped to a 4L60e. Makes the 6 bolt ass end of the 4L60e look just like the 4 bolt 700r4 and adds a speed sensor. Kept the crossmember and everything in its original location as the 4L60e was like 1.5” shorter and the adapter measure 1.5” thick.

    Overdrive not working

If you are getting power on the orange test wire (just hanging under the dash) then externally, the trans is being sent a lockup signal. With the truck off, ohm this wire to a good ground. Should see about 23.5 ohms according to the manual. If so, the 4-3 switch and solenoid are "electrically...

    Overdrive not working

It appears the 2wd diesel locked up every gear. The throttle switch unlocks below 10% throttle (think stop light, take off, coasting) Then briefly unlocks during the 4-3 downshift. Mine used to have this but when i converted to gas, i rewired so that it would basically be locked anytime it was...

    Alternative A/C Test Methods

If your test ports are vertical(ish) I like to fill them with liquid to look for bubbles. I have fought those damn schraders a lot. Even new ones. Usually have to depress them a few times with a screw driver (be gentle!) to get them to seal up.

SOLVED - Power Window - Pass window won't work from drivers side

Not sure what year you’re working on, but I assume they’re all the same. The drivers door has the heavier ground wire. The passenger door, (usually the slower to drive), has the pass through 2 switches (one in each door) to get to ground. At rest, both pins on the motors are grounded. When...

Zero Rates on the Front Axle

I’m running a 4” lift, with 35x12.5x20 on 20x10 -24. I used 1/4” zero rates and moved the axle 1” forward. I did have to do very minor “persuasion” of the lower front fenders. No more rubbing even while off-roading. Someone makes sway bar end links. Maybe ORD. With lifted springs, I’d...

    USA1 Industries

My parts arrived when I was told they would, and I’m happy with the quality, fit and finish. I would absolutely order from them again if I needed anything. My dash arrived and the Silverado emblem wasn’t perfect. I emailed them, and they sent me a new emblem immediately, no questions asked. We...

Never visited. Sounds cool. I have their complete Silverado dash pad (color matched). Ordered the whole smack assembled and ready to install. Very happy with it. Only minor complaint, maybe… It appears the thread cutting speed nuts that hold all the plastic pieces together were over...

    Steering box for sale.

When I did crossover and hydro assist on my blazer, I picked up a spare gearbox while I was at the PnP. It has been completely rebuilt and ported for hydro assist. The box was drilled but not tapped as I like a little more thread engagement. I chose to weld on pipe fittings while I had it...

How to fix loose gm steering column

If your wheel doesn’t lock after reassembly, check this spring. It hooks the lock rod and is inside the slot on the black spur gear thingy. At this point of assembly, the key cylinder is removed, but you can still turn it by hand to ensure everything’s working (ignition switch, wheel lock). If...

Vacuum switch, break switch, and wiring for 700-R4

An easy test: While driving down the road, in 4th while holding steady throttle, tap the brake pedal ever so slightly. (Just enough to turn on brake lights) RPM will pickup and then drop a second after you release brake. If it does this, your TCC is working. Switch on non TBI is located...
