Container based shop: 2 post lift placement advice?
I’ve seen a pic of a GMT400 88-98 fits but squares are a bit wider. At least I know it would fit but not getting out of a door. Back window exit only. -

Will a squarebody fit in a shipping container? Anyone have experience? Can I get out the truck door or is it so tight you have to crawl out the back window? @gut_wrench_garage Looking to store my K10 and K5 in a 40ft container. -
Has anyone done an L31 Vortec swap?
96-98 vortec 350 L31 engine swap easy? ‘86 blazer with LE9 305 160hp 240tq when new. Put on dual 2.25” exhaust, no cats. Last year of the quadrajet. 3:73 gears. Definitely noticed when I went from 31” to ~ 33” tires. The ol 305 runs pretty good but smokes bad and goes through a qt of oil every...- TDoc

Front center seat, center console upgrade, 3rd seat, 6th seat, jump seat
Yes the driver and passenger are factory seats. These are the skinny lower trim seats. Higher trims got the wider seats. Guessing the bases were different on the m1009? -

lol! Thanks! Vehicles always look better in pictures but it’s pretty good for being almost 40 years old. I’m a wheel tire guy too, I like the stock wheels and refurbish them as good as I can vs aftermarket, but the 17” aluminum rally I couldn’t pass up vs the 15” steels that are hard to find...- TDoc

I just put the vision aluminum rally wheels on my k5. Ordered 0 offset and they clear just fine. 10 bolt to 12 bolt worth it & used axle prices
Ball joints are 15 years old but truck is rarely driven and they are still tight as when I put them in. I'll look into the camber kits.- TDoc

I’ve tried it at 0 or just a touch 1/8” toed in and it still handles terrible. Just by looking at the k10 you can see it has a lot of positive camber which the k5 has hardly any.- TDoc

My 86 k5 drives great and doesn’t wear the outside’s edges of the tires compared to the 79 k10. I’ve heard about the positive camber from the factory but something must have changed from 79 to 86.- TDoc

Found a D44 / corporate 10 bolt and 12 bolt rearend locally out of a 1977 K5 Front axle has a seal leak but includes a Detroit EZ locker installed. 12 bolt rearend is open diff but he will include a Detroit EZ locker for it as well (not installed). 3:73 ratio. $500 total for both. Good...- TDoc

Found a great deal on set of 275/70/17 Wildpeak AT3W 32.2” 58lbs ea and the original hub cap stickers fit perfect! The BFG KM3 285/70/17 32.8” 67lbs ea are 9lbs heavier per tire so will probably run those on another vehicle. 305 needs all the help it can get!- TDoc

They sell them in several sizes. I went with 17x8 with 0 offset. I have a set of 285/70/17 ready to go on. Also seems like R17 tires are always available locally for a great price with people wanting to switch out their tires on new vehicles...- TDoc

I ended up getting the wheels. CWO honored my original order price of $633 shipped. Price has gone up significantly $158 -> $225 per wheel. Due to being made in China. Wheels fit bolt pattern and offset 0 is similar to the stock wheel where you can barely get your finger between the drag link...- TDoc

It’s definitely the two lower bolts. They don’t have o-rings just a thin metal washer. Looks like I’d have to pull the trans to get the bolts all the way out. Maybe I’ll try some RTV around the outside bolt washer? It’s an odd leak. Sometimes no leak but guaranteed to leak when sitting for a few...- TDoc

Kept thinking I had a leak at the front of the pan. I took off the inspection cover, and the two lower bolts of the pump housing are slowly leaking transmission fluid. I double checked and it’s not the seal to the torque converter. I started loosening the bolts and a bunch of transmission fluid...- TDoc
