    its a th400 from a frito lay truck. the pan and adapter came with a 4bt. I've had 5 or 6 of those. got a pan laying in the shed right now. only difference is mine has fins on the bottom of it.

    I've got a 76 van that is showing signs of cracking around the pin area. also have a 96 g30(last year of that van body) that you can clearly see spot welds were it has a large backing plate welded in behind the pin area. I would definitely put a larger piece in behind those if you're very far...

    have you tried twisting it back straight? theres a groove in the back that won't let it rotate real far.

    you can get a 3.23 ratio for the 14bolt, but they are kinda hard to find. I don't think anyone makes it aftermarket, just have to find some original takeout gears.

    HELP! Nv4500 Swap, so many transfer cases so little time.

    cast iron actually cuts pretty easy. A grinder wheel and careful hand will trim it out easily.
