1976 K20 NP203 HELP! So confused!

Yeah if I had something to swap to without hunting it down I'd consider it, and still might in the future, but after the cash of this thing getting a flatbed started I think I'll continue with the locking hubs that are ordered and see if I can actually lock them and get this thing into a gear...- Catfish Supreme

From what I have heard, and I could be wrong, Manuals will tell you to use gear oil, but that isn't necessarily good. I filled it with 30W non-detergent to prevent foaming when oil is sloshed around by the chain under use. Hope that will be ok. If I can get this dang truck going I will do a full...- Catfish Supreme

Ha! y'all are awesome. I have new locking hubs coming Wednesday. Just pulled the trigger on some Mile Marker ones for now that claim they fit and are 19 spline. So Wednesday night I'll throw those bad boys on and see what happens and update this thread. I am just at a loss why a part wouldn't be...- Catfish Supreme

Jacked up truck. Took off those warm hubs and looking at the pieces, I’m unsure how they ever worked correctly. Doesn’t seem to me like they were engaging anything at all! Yes tires on the ground. This weekend I’m going to jack the front and tear into the locking hubs and see if I can see anything that lets me know they’re junked or installed wrong. They are Warn brand. Look older. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- Catfish Supreme

I will try this tonight again and report back, thanks for the replies! Last time I was under there with the hubs locked, when I spin the front shaft, the U joints at the wheel spin as well. Hopefully all of this is due to the hubs. But like I said, I will re-verify this after work.- Catfish Supreme

Thanks for taking the time to read this post! This will be a mouthful. Np203 with manual locking hubs, I have done so much research here on the forums and calling around and have gotten nowhere. Recieved the truck in Low LOCK. Got it running and have done everything thusfar in this mode, hubs...- Catfish Supreme
