That's the thing, It starts fairly smoothly and I can hold the accelerator and get to an idle speed but if I let go then it stalls. I will run all the valve adjustments again but I had believed that they might be too loose (too much lash). Bottom line is that I can get it to start when I add...- Staci Newsom

HEI IGNITION Problem
I have a 1978 GMC Sierra Grande with a 350 ci engine. I believed I had a blown head gasket and got that all done but now I have no spark at the plugs. I have a 1978 GMC c15 heavy half ton that is mostly stock. It currently has a 350ci engine (which has recently been rebuilt and has an edelbrock intake and a holly 4 bbl carb.) It does go fast. It also has weight distribution shocks in the rear. I am not sure if the leaf springs are very good...- Staci Newsom
