Fuse blows when fan speed on high
I was letting the truck warm up, and noticed no heat whatsoever. Prior to this, occasionally, the high speed wouldn't work. Or sometimes, nothing worked..........but if I messed with the blower speed switch flipping it up and down....it would start to work. The truck is intermittently driven...- ronniebomb

Did some research, and found this on another truck forum: "unplug the wire to the motor. Then replace the fuse, and try all settings on the switch. If the fuse doesn't pop, the fan motor is bad. If the fuse pops, its the relay or wiring If the fuse pops with the motor unhooked, leave the...- ronniebomb

I am also chasing the same exact problem on my 78 GMC K25. I have just spent the entire day replacing the blower motor, relay, and resistor. I cleaned all connections for the main power wire across the firewall. Still blows the fuse........... I guess I'm going to get quite familiar with my...- ronniebomb

Thanks for the input y'all! Ya know what's weird, the left-hand side male belt isn't retractable or doesn't have the hard plastic casing that would make it easier to grab and connect. It's just lays on the floor .............. and falls out of the truck when you open or try to close the door! I...- ronniebomb

78 GMC seat belt styles
I have a 78 GMC K25 with only 54,000 miles. It was mostly original condition when I picked it up last year. It currently has lap belts, no shoulder harness on either side. My thinking was that in 74, GM went to the shoulder harness. Is there a possibility that the lap belt set up was an option...- ronniebomb

Wheel spacers
I just installed these on my K25. They work great and you don't need longer studs due to the recessed counter bores, and they even included 10 lug nuts for installation. They're on 'zon.......- ronniebomb

That's great info Craig! Thank you for the fuel pump knowledge, it all makes sense now after the fact! I would have never imagined a shorter fuel pump style for the 4wd's. I did rotate the outer lights 20° so they'd be correct. I never noticed on any truck until I installed these, now I pay more...- ronniebomb

That's a nice clean truck to work with. Gotta love working on a vehicle where the fasteners come apart without the blue tipped wrench! lol! If you want to keep the block but the .030 to .060 overbore won't clean up that cylinder, you could always sleave that cylinder. At least you'd be saving...- ronniebomb

speedo driven gear in transfer case same as T400 driven gear?
This is probably the way I'll have to go, I happened to have one that's a 1:1.300 ratio that I installed Friday. It over compensated....... I was 4 mph slow @30, with the 1.300 I'm 5 mph fast now.
