    fluid change

Short answer is it depends how you’re doing it. Based on the overly simple question, may want to look into it and what you’re trying to accomplish with the fluid change.

    1973 Tailgate Trim Band Replacement

So ‘73 was the only year of the little band and ‘74 -up were all the larger ones? Feel like I’ve seen far too many of the little bands to only be a 1 year offering. Last blazers I had was a long time ago and they were beaters with heaters , not concerned with aesthetics but I’d think the...

What have you done to your square lately??

Ahhh yes. I never said it was not doable. And with tall gears like that it’s certainly more comfortable. Same here. And I’d do it today if it was a necessity or for a reason to drive the old truck.

    85 vent windows

Even if it’s parked outside in North Dakota year round, the amount of UV compared to where @SquareRoot lives is considerably less. When we lived in Phoenix, I was amazed how fast the heat and sun destroyed stuff. I thought Denver or Albuquerque were bad compared to the Upper Midwest where I...

    Mar-K Truck Toolbox for Stepside

Damn! Hahaha. You mean no one bought their overpriced concours restoration quality parts? Have you ever worked with their moldings and were they OE or better quality/thickness? Think they/someone is selling off their stock, maybe get a set of ‘77 body moldings for less than a house payment?

    Suburban Carpet Thread

Good point. If you’re comparing to not doing dynamat stuff. It would be about $150 worth of Kilmat to do the whole floor in a burb. Plus your labor time. Took me a few hrs to do the floor on a single cab. A burb is a solid long day of work front to back imo. I believe it will help the carpet...

    85 vent windows

Was gonna suggest this. Wrap them! Perfect non invasive semi permanent or permanent solution. Haven’t done it yet but planning to on the ‘77 as I’m not painting it, but the wing window frames look like @ss. With not much spare time I don’t like doing things twice, although seriously...

    85 vent windows

That just means you didn’t do it properly and/or used cheap paint. If it’s peeling, it’s likely a prep issue. If it’s fading quickly, that’s cheap paint. If your truck sits outside down there in Juma, AZ, the heat and UV are about the worst in the country save for maybe Death Valley. That...

    Suburban Carpet Thread

It would be interesting to see the difference between regular and mass backed and reg cut pile vs plush. Both are up charges which is significant when doing a burb. I can say reg looks great and unless doing a mega $ resto I’m not sure I’d find spending an extra $400+ on Essex and mass backing...

Any window treatments to clear up "foggy" window edges

You’re tinting the windshield? My guess is , your issue is the laminate beginning to separate. If it don’t come off with a razor blade then it’s between the plies of glass.

Best Truck Roof Top Tent for Weekend Camping?

Hahaha, truth! The Taco bros are the most numerous followed by the duck dash Jeepers. It’s like the chrome accessory aisle at Vato Zone, but for white people! Sooo many driving around in the rain ALL winter with a tent, fuel cans, shovel, hi lift, cheese grater boards and another couple grand...

Replacing a single frame rail, can it be done?

Yeah….what in the Bible Belt is up with Kansas? That’s crazy. Here in Libtardistan they don’t even care. Curiously enough, even, there are NO VIN checks whatsoever.

Replacing a single frame rail, can it be done?

I don’t get it. Some minor bullshizzle from 18 years ago. Are you saying that because of that, now if you go for a classic car plates in NC, they inspect that every available identifier must be numbers matching or at least old enough to be a classic car? And that the dmv inspects the frame...

K5 Blazer repaint cap body color or white? How to remove fading paint on fiberglass.

Please don’t. Just like your post about using some rattle can paint again. You just spent time correcting all the Overspray Ray issues. Plus, you can’t sand the bad stuff off as you’ve found (because the surface is textured). If you can’t finish it properly then better off to leave it as is, IMO

    Glass lock strip replacement

If you got one that crusty, I’d think pics would have sufficed for a refund. Or do you mean the chrome got gouged/wrinkled? Because the latter is not hard to do. Install needs to be slow and careful or damage to the chrome finish is pretty easy to have happen.

Replacing a single frame rail, can it be done?

I have to ask, aside from a true numbers matching resto (which really is useless on a square as there are 1000s of clean original trucks that don’t need extensive heavy duty resto (like a new frame rail), has anyone actually ever had their frame or other places VIN checked? I’ve only lived in...

    Ball joint

To be clear you’re turning the steering, not the wheel, correct? Not sure why that would require a lift. But again, you haven’t mentioned the condition of it currently. Assuming it’s not crunchy and not sloppy or you’d not be worried about lubing it. Seems like alot of different efforts here...
