    I agree with Rory. My rust is much worse. I think mine was from my vent window though. I use that rustoleum too. One day I’ll patch it but for now I shave bigger fish to fry.

    I still have the rear support on the stock radio from the parts truck. I guess that should work with the Metra kit. I think I’ll make a template too for later down the road. I’m in a bind now and have to get my truck together quickly and get the parts truck gone.

    My headlight wiring on the swb is a mess. That’s the only reason I want to change. I disconnected both. The 86 had 9 prongs whereas the 84 has 7. The “extra” 2 from the 86 are the pink and white wires. I don’t think it will hurt to have those 2 extra male prongs in the harness as there aren’t...

    Can I also use the 86 headlight harness that has the pump wire in it and just plug the 84s pump wire into the old pump? Or will I use the plug from the 86? I’m not sure how that would work. I’m guessing there are connectors in the 86s harness at the firewall that aren’t in the 84.

    Is there any easy way to tell? My truck, I’ve dubbed “the bride” because she’s definitely Frankensteined. She sits up higher than my 86 lwb and my dad’s 87. It’s an 84 and like I said definitely pieced together.

    Thanks guys. The last time I watched a YouTube video for help with removal of something it was horrible. It was pretty much remove this, this, and this. Now that you have it out. It showed nothing. I’ll never get that time back. I should have checked, but I didn’t. I didn’t know Dorman made a tool.
