Sad Discovery: GM 10 Bolt Fails

FWIW, I completely rebuild my 12 bolt a few years back, only reused the housing itself. It took me a long long time. Probably a month, and at least 20 attempts of putting together and taking it back apart to try to get the backlash and preload right. It cost a bit of money as well, by the time...

    Opinions on grounds needed

I ended up going the daisy chain method. People here told me it was overkill, but I don't care I drilled holes in various locations and used 5/26" threaded rods with nuts and washers to attach. Then a battery cable tying each of those lugs together. Anything nearby that needs a ground is...

    76 K10 rear main seal

Is it a decent idea to just change all the rod bearings while the pan is down?

    78 K-10 Dual Tank Install

It had the old three port valve, with single power wire. I replaced it with the newer six port version, and when you do that, you have to completely rewire the valve and selector switch. I believe it has six wires instead of 1, if I remember correctly. There are a ton of threads on here about...

Dome light fixture and socket replaced and working. Pass side jamb switch working, drivers is not. It's brand new but luckily cheap.

    Making the Fuel System Simple

FWIW - I installed an online pump with my Pro Flo 4 system originally. Stupidly, my first test drive was on an offroad trail in the middle of nowhere and it nearly left me stranded - the brand new pump kept overheating and I'd lose fuel pressure, needing to pull over every 10 minutes or so and...

    Fuel Tank Replacement

You don't have to get a new sending unit if yours is working, but I probably would. Replacing those is not fun, and you're going to have the tank down already anyway

    Replace Steel Dash

I actually saw the three dashes in the LMC magazine yesterday, which is what got me asking this question My dash is pretty mangled, especially around the steering wheel area. Most of the smaller, thinner braces are broken, bent twisted and dented, to the point where the wiper switch doesn't...

    Replace Steel Dash

Old thread I know. Has anyone done this recently? I'm curious how difficult it would be to replace mine

    78 K-10 Dual Tank Install

I had the same thing happen with my 77 K10 a few years back. I was replacing the fule hoses, and I snapped the barbed end off the selector valve. I ended up replacing with the newer version and rewiring the valve.

Dakota Digital install with American Autowire harness- ETA adding TCI 4L60E control to the install

DD makes a module for the Holley Sniper? I wasn't aware. I went with the Pro Flo 4 almost completely because I knew they made a module for it. If I knew they made one for the Sniper, things may have been different

Can you disconnect the external pump and see if you still get fuel pressure?

Dakota Digital install with American Autowire harness- ETA adding TCI 4L60E control to the install

This is awesome. I just about finished my wiring harness and am getting ready to instal the DD gauge set. Looks like you're a week or two ahead of me - I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure

    Gas Gauge Problems Continue

I replaced both my senders and tanks as well a few years back when I switched to efi. The tanks are meant for efi, and have baffles in them to keep sloshing to a minimum, but my cheap, tempo gauge still bounces around a bit. I think it has more to do with the gauge itself. The expensive, nice...

I think I have short in my dome light socket, so ordered a whole new assembly from LMC. I got the shift linkage put back together this morning, as well as the steering wheel with horn contact parts and installed two new Hella horns

    Steering Column Advice

The turn signal switch has some little springs in it that are responsible for returning the turn signal lever back to the middle position. If one of those is broke, the lever won't return. I know they make replacement springs. The switch itself is not all that expensive and not crazy difficult...

Wiper washer motor replacement. Who you buying from?

Did that motor wire up to your existing wiring and switch, or did you have to retro everything?
