The other thermostat I put in there was one I had sitting in another engine so I haven't tried a new thermostat,the gauge was pretty much all the way up when the belt broke but it didn't physically over heat there wasn't any steam and I couldn't hear the coolant boiling but it was definitely...- thatbluek10

Thanks for all the help,I did notice some cracks on the belt a couple days before but didn't have time to make it to the parts store,but I think I'm gonna try buying a thermostat and seeing if that fixes it,should I try going with like a 180° thermostat this time or just another 195° Sent from...- thatbluek10

I don't have a clutch on my fan I have a solid mount to the water pump and I have a flex fan that all the blades look good on,do you think the water pump could be bad and just doesn't have the water flow to push through the thermostat?and it doesn't leak any coolant Sent from my SM-G930T using...- thatbluek10

Hi,I I have an 84 k10 with a 383 stroker,the other day I was driving it and knocked the water pump v belt off and over heated it, before that happened the engine ran about 160° but ever since then after I replaced the belt now it will idle at 210 and if I drive it it goes to 230 with a 195...- thatbluek10
