    This happened 2 weeks ago. I managed to get it all back together last Monday. Been lightly driving it to work all week, checking the differential temperature when I get to work and back home. Temps have been between 135F and 160F. I am really happy with it so far.

    Bad day leaving work. Thought at first the NV4500 transmission was the problem but after running it on jack stands and putting my hand on the differential, I could feel the ring and pinion not playing nice.

    I did have to put a small dent/notch in my cross member to clear the oil pan. If I remember correctly only on the drivers side.

    Fingers crossed. My 5.3 bottom end has 241k on it. I did put a new oil pump in it when I did the swap, then added .100 worth of washers to the pressure relief spring in oil pump when I did the cam swap. Oil pressure went from 40 ish to 55ish.

    I paid $600 for a street tune. No shift point tuning here, 77 is manual. Sorry to hear about the spun bearing.

    After a 200 mile duck hunting trip today, the 77 rolled over 60k miles since the LS swap. I have throughly enjoyed every mile and would definitely do it again.

    Alternator went out Thursday on my way home from work. Luckily I made it home without issue. Installed an alternator from my parts pile. Back up and running.

    The right rear brake light and right turn signal quit working last Saturday. I figured it was just a bulb, but a new bulb did not fix the problem. After some troubleshooting I figured out that the turn signal switch in the steering column was the problem.

    Dang. Another project followed me home yesterday. 69 Chevelle to go with my 69 C10. This is going to be a long term project, it’s currently nothing but a rolling shell and needs quite a bit of sheet metal work. Luckily, like our trucks, there are lots parts available. Just takes $$.

    New bearing arrived from AA today. 77 is all back together and ready to go to work in the morning.

    Transmission has been removed and to no surprise the throw out bearing is wrecked! The one down side is that the bearing is an Advanced Adapter part only. To AAs credit, their customer service is great and a new bearing is on its way.

    Throw out bearing started making a horrendous racket on my way home from work yesterday. I bore scoped it this morning and can see that bearing is coming apart/separating from the bear shell. Oh BTW, it’s a special part from Advance Adapter and it’s back ordered! The tech I spoke to yesterday...

    Just rolled over 50k miles on the 77 since the 5.3/nv4500 swap. Best thing I could have done to the truck. Except maybe a turbo . Oh! Add that the list of upgrades for the 69.
