    Hello from Texas! Glad to have found this forum. Wow there's some great info here! I'm just starting a major rehab project - 1981 GMC 2500. I want to keep it largely stock looking. The stock 350 is locked up but it'll be replaced with another small block, but the 400 tranny will be replaced...

    305 SBC vs 6.2 Detroit: Which would you rather?

    I've had 2 trucks with the 305 but no experience with the 6.2. I know the 305 can be mostly adequate if the cam, intake, and carb are swapped, so I'd go that way again and definitely use ceramic headers and duel exhaust.

    Headers/fastners

    I've used headers quite a bit in the past but anyways had to be checking torque on the bolts at the flange and collector. I'm not sure I'm willing to do that on the '80 GMC 3/4 Ton in about to restore thigh l though. What do you guys use that works great? Stage 8? Studs? Or is running manifolds...
