    ok NOW i fixed it..... turns out the female plug had a broken blade... so some tin foil on the male blade to widen it, filled the gap and closed the circuit. fixed.

    blast it with water if you drive it on an especially snowy, slushy, salty day.... otherwise, blast it with WD40 to help keep it from sticking and eating metal

    truck died driving

    mine was dieing because of the torque converter killing it. (manual to auto conversion) but that was only at idle sometimes. to just die completely while driving... gas or ignition/voltage issues. sounds like gas, because its starting. so it is probably not timing or ignition. vacuum lines...

    turns out it is the high-low beam switch.... how can i hot wire this switch so that the circuit is permanently closed? i cant find a replacement part and i don't want to deal with replacing it. which colors do i cross and which do i ground?

    i should have started there. i will check the HI-LO switch right now. i like having all 4 headlights on ( i actually aimed them all down as low beams) so i never bothered to look into fixing it

    that is a very good point... thank you. it kind of circles back to the whole "NEW gas sipping car, high payment & insurance & registration... or... cheap insurance, registration, no payment, just thirsty" most americans spend $300 a month on gas (average) even im not that bad.:shrug...

    fixed it. it was a loose & varnished up idle/air control valve lol would not throw any check engine lights. finally checked it while doing a thorough throttle body spray cleaning

    it has new fuel pumps, so i doubt its fuel pressure. i think it may be the idle air control valve..... because the problem is getting worse. it happens warm now too.... but some B12 seems to have solved it. still no check engine lights.

    i think you may be right.... i just pulled it and black gas came out of it.... i poured this into the box the NEW filter came in... lol thats really bad..... guess i will be going through filters much more frequently.... bummer.

    i know that the fuel pressure TO** the TBI is fine. because its starting and running great... and looking at the cones spray, it looks like its leaving the TBI fine.... im just guessing at this point

    well after over adjusting the cable then backing it off little by little i think i almost have it..... some times i need to "pump" or "feather" the pedal in the floored position but then it does downshift and launch so ill keep testing it

    ok ill try and tighten it to FULL PULL at wide open throttle... the bracket is stock on the motor. and the cable is brand new. guy at the shop installed it and said its working fine. i can pull it by hand and feel it ride smooth against the internal spring pressure.

    thanks yeah the trans is brand new-fresh rebuilt. guy said he even dynoed it. its runs good in each gear i select. probably TV cable related... should wide open throttle should be pulling the TV cable FULLY TAUGHT?... because all the videos i have been watching do not show this as being...
