    Mounting tires at home

Yeah, I have used vice grips since chasing the bead the first time I used it.

    Mounting tires at home

I guess I have low standards. I've had the harbor freight tool for probably 10 years and used it more times than I can remember. Yes, the bead breaker sucks, but I like not having to work on the ground. It was well worth the $40 I spent on it.

    Intake manifold not fitting flush

Most engine builds I have seen they use a large bead of rtv on both the front and rear China rails. Much better chance of not having leaks than the factory gaskets.

    Complete powerloss

I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in, but I believe there is a fusible link in the main power wire from the starter. However, it should be working if in tact, or dead if it is blown. It shouldn't be intermittent. Sounds like a bad component or connection that comes and goes...

Strength of 3 inch C channel???

The easy solution would be to keep several wood blocks handy and shim them under the middle of the ramps when loading heavier vehicles.

    Wiper arm and hood removal

Use a small pick to pull the tab out while pulling up on the wiper arm. The arm is spring loaded so it's a PITA, but will eventually come off. I just unbolted the hinge and spring support from the hood, leaving the hinge in the firewall and the spring support attached to the fender, then...

    Quadrajet doesn't idle when warm

I would start by starting it up, cold, with the air cleaner off. As it warms up, blip the throttle and make sure the choke plate is opening up. If it is, the choke is working. If not, you know at least part of the problem is the choke.

New to forums/ Lighting advice needed

Check the grounds at the tail lights . Try putting a test light into the taillight socket and a good ground. Also, generally, it the dash lights don't work in addition to the taillights, it could be a fuse. Also make sure you have good bulbs to start with. And welcome to the forum.

    Complete interior wiring harness removal

I'm not sure of any. When I swapped mine out, I just patiently unplugged and labeled each connection, then used it as a reference when I put the junk yard replacement in. It was pretty easy to do. Lots of photos for reference help. A wiring diagram won't show you the physical placement of...

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

I had a condenser go bad years ago, which caused intermittent problems of rough running and backfiring. Loose mount\connection or an internal issue. Cheap and easy to swap out. Just a thought.

A bit of a weight problem

I found a post where someone weighed a stripped cab at 333lbs. Sounds about right from what I remember messing with mine. Nothing definitive but I would bet the bed is around 300 also. Two of us could lift one, but balancing it was a challenge.

Should I replace this tailgate handle / can it be changed

I bought a replacement handle mechanism (new) off eBay for $20. Seems well made, but I decided it looked like more trouble than it was worth to install so it's still sitting on my shelf.

Pro Tech that was for a 94-02 Ram. Had to have a friend modify the rails, but I like the results.

    Straightening a tailgate

It's going to be tough to do without some serious bodywork skills. The metal is stretched when it bends, so straightening it with a press will just cause heavy wrinkles and dents.

    Help! High beams always on!

Should have either floor or column switch, not both. Sounds like a creative wire hack owned it before.

    No fuel to carb

Strainer sock on the pickup tube could be clogged, or the tank switching valve could be stuck between ports. I would bypass the valve and plumb straight from the tank to the pump and see if fuel flows.

    Which would be easier?

Yes, you will have to pull at least the front fenders, inner and outer, to swap cabs. Sounds you will be piecing things together, probably just as easy to completely disassemble the front components.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I always put eye bolts in the bed floor. One at each corner and one immediately in front of and behind the inner wheel well. Around a dollar each at any hardware store and work well.

Pulling the 1986 5.7 Broken Cam

Even at idle the crank is throwing the broken rod through 10 revolutions per second, assuming 600rpm. That is a lot of potential damage real quick.
