    Dash parts, and engine bracketry

I went to an Amish boot store, Troyers in Fremont MI, if you have any over your way, give them a try.

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

No, I got someone to cut all the pieces out and try to shanghai my truck. Then I got a 4,000 judgement he'll never pay, and welded them in myself. In the future, I'll just find a donor cab.

Long bed to short bed conversion

The logic is sound, but at some point you have to ask, does it matter? The heat affected zone would be stronger, but does it matter? A longer, non-sheer joint would be stronger, but does it matter? They are legitimate questions, to get answers, you can simply go to the real world and look...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I ran an ad somewhat like that, except, I was willing to pay, up to 1,000. I got some interesting responses.

A buzz box Lincoln is more than capable, my concern is more of the skill level involved. No offense, it's just the kind of thing you really want to get right, you know?

Someone like this is who you need to find, someone who welds for a living every day and is subject to inspections and everything else. A propane torch and your buddies borrowed welder will probably, maybe, should work. But I would really encourage you to let a pro handle this, these thing's...

Probably... Maybe... There are alot of maybes in this lol. And these cars flexed like cardboard brand new. I'd still cut the bad metal out, fashion my patches, and take it all to a pro. The actual welding bill should only be 100 bucks or so.

You'll need to take care to get good penetration, especially if you cut the whole piece out back to good metal. Also, alot of the second gens have a brace that runs right to that area, mine is a 72 and doesn't, but your's probably should. I would use 3/16 plate, and .035 good quality wire, but...

I do alot of sketchy shit, but I wouldn't patch that with a 90 amp flux core.

    Powder coat frame

Powder doesn't go into inside corners very well, we struggle with this in production daily.

Race bullets aren't going to do much besides change the tone.

    Powder coat frame

Real, two part product would be more durable than paint for sure. You just need to make sure all your welding and drilling is done first, it you come back later and want to hang an exhaust hanger from it later it'll be a debacle.

The cost of getting anything rechromed is through the roof nowadays. I had 73-74 headlight bezels rechromed for Daryl and it was 380.00. Not surprising so many trucks are driving around with plastic replacements.

Fuel lines: Aluminum vs Steel vs Stainless

Both PolyArmour and NiCop work great, and are easy to bend and flare. You do need to secure them well to keep from being abraded. I've done stainless, and won't do it again. I have a simple bar type flare tool, and even with tap magic, it took multple tries to get straight flares on it, and I...

Are you talking Majic or Valspar? The Valspar is much better, but my Tractor Supply quit carrying it. I have a gallon of red Majic, I sprayed a little, it was thin I didn't like it.

what type of d60f locker do I have?

That is the best solution, it gives you both. On snow days, leave it in 4x4, hubs locked, diff open. In mud, or technical trails, hill climbs, etc, lock it up. I rarely need to use my front, generally my rear is sufficient to push me anywhere I want to go. Like you, the fear of body damage...

what type of d60f locker do I have?

It takes like 5mph wheelspeed difference to cause the governor on a Gov lock to engage. Then it disengages above 15 or sos

what type of d60f locker do I have?

I have ARB's in our FJ, and they are outstanding. My wife drives it every day and never knows the difference, and I can wheel it all weekend with the touch of a button. However all in gears, compressor, and lockers were over 2k. So if you're not going to seriously wheel it, I probably...

BBC fuel mileage .... Carb, TBI, MPI, or swap for an LS?

Well the first thing would be to get what you have running right. Second, it's a big dumb truck. I have a 496 with an Allison OD in my daily, and I get 12 mpg, it's just not going to be good no matter what you do. Driving a Jetta to work everyday will save you more on gas faster than any...

what type of d60f locker do I have?

Here's a powerlock, I can't find any part number stamping or anything on it though to match up to what you have, the ribs seem to match. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-DANA-60-POWER-LOCK-4-10-DOWN-35-SPLINE-NON-ABS-/152640992877

You need an open carrier to fit a Detroit in a 14b.

what type of d60f locker do I have?

Your front has a SPicer marking on it, and I can see a clutch, so it's likely a power lock. Some axles have 4.10's, some have 4.11, but CUCV's have 4.56's. So your's have been monkeyed with for sure.

Do you have 4.10 gear's? Is that pinion stamp 41 10?
