Worn Rear Shock Mounting Hole (Slotted)

A shock, on a Squarebody, really shouldn't see any load. It shouldn't need a double sheer mount or anything else, unless you're running those goofy shock overload coils or something.

    Giving into my wallet

I use this to determine what makes financial sense, like my decision to buy an 81 instead of a Duramax from the same place for the same price lol. https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/savemoney.jsp

Worn Rear Shock Mounting Hole (Slotted)

Agreed, I'd just use a grade 8 washer to fix it.

    Giving into my wallet

I can only tell you what I tell everyone, and no one likes. Buy a Neon, drive it to and from work, you'll spend less and get more than any trans swap or carb swap.

86 Sierra Classic. Bad Block... Now what?

I don't trust machine shops. A couple times getting burned with four digit bills and subpar work was enough for me. Egg shaped, tapered cylinders, tolerances set all wonky doodle... And then rebuilds never seem to go 200k, but originals do? I generally prefer a crate engine if reliability is...

    Flex or not.....

Yes, I'm also unfamiliar with this flex line... FWIW, I like to use NiCop line, that stuff bends beautifully.

    Ball Joint Advice

I always use Chinesium "junk" lol. Started doing it about 4 years ago on my Trailblazer, haven't had to replace a single Detroit Axle brand China part yet.

What is your daily if not square body?

You guys are fancier than me lol, I usually drive my 03 2500HD, or my wife's FJ Cruiser.

    LS swap questions

Sure, if you can find one, it all works.

    Arduino powered fuel injector tester.

Ok, so I have everything here, I'm going to dig into it today. I got Dale Follets simple diagram done and the sketch almost working last night. For some reason it's not clicking off after the pre-set time, but I'm sure I'll sort that out this afternoon and get a fixture built. I got a set of...

    Just Left Shop Help Pls!!??

NAPA carried them last year, I got some for my M1009 when I went through the front end.

    1979 K20 5.3 Swap

That was me lol. There is a ton of info pinned there in their files. Some of the guy's are a little high on their horses, but overall, it's a good group.

    Just Left Shop Help Pls!!??

Yeah, it's likely been some time since the bearings were packed and adjusted, if ever.

    Just Left Shop Help Pls!!??

A simple thing to do, as @HotRodPC suggested, is swap tires side to side, or front to rear. While you have it off, give the rotors a twirl and see if your brakes are dragging.

What's wrong with your truck? Start a thread, some pretty clever guy's here.

    1979 K20 5.3 Swap

^^^ This is why, a sane person isn't so quick to cut a notch in their frame, and most manifolds that will fit, like the Trailblazer SS and GTO, if you're buying new, cost about 2/3 as much as a Speed Engineering header that fits.

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I had a 66 with a 283 and a powerglide lol. It was a sweet cruiser, but I didn't appreciate cruiser's back in 95. It just pissed me off that it wasn't an SS or anything cool at all lol.

    Exhaust Manifold Follow-up

In the late 80's, early 90's, when your header choices were cheap garbage, or hyper expensive adequacy, they were quite the upgrade.

Driveway leaf springs and shock replacement or pay $600?

Get a couple cans of PB Blaster, start spraying every bolt now, do it once or twice a day.
  20. Jrgunn5150

    Exhaust Manifold Follow-up

Yes, they were the factory manifold with a smaller outlet on the 67-72 trucks. Of course, the rest of your exhaust will need some help to meet up to them.

Driveway leaf springs and shock replacement or pay $600?

Those ratchet straps will definitely come in handy when it's time to line everything back up.

    Exhaust Manifold Follow-up

Any header that fits your C2500 will fit your engine, the 75 vs 83 doesn't make a difference. The Ram's Horns are the best, but that's like the best turd in the sewer lol.

    Tool Box

I have a similar Kennedy box in my basement with all my machinist tools in it. It never really got much of a beating though, since it was full of machinist tools and not mechanics tools lol.

Driveway leaf springs and shock replacement or pay $600?

You have to wrestle, pry, cuss, etc. You'll need good 1/2 tools and a breaker bar, but you can do it, I've done it in an apartment complex parking lot lol.

    Tool Box

You have to wrap it in [color} tags, but I don't think there's a hot key for it. I assumed you were doing it intentionally for effect lol.
