Found a out of the way spot to mount the TPS .. Carb is looking kind of busy .. Not sure it's needed, but been thinking about doing a fast idle solenoid .. ? Been giving some thought on how to go about doing this .. Since the return springs been relocated to the front of the carb. the solenoid...- dragstews

Think this should work, if there is room for the hose ?? Second line might work better .. ? With using a 90 degree fitting at the pump should not be in the way of the lower hose ... Will pick up the hardware to do this mod tomorrow .. Do think this fuel line will be the ticket ..- dragstews

Fuel pump and line is next on the 'todo' list .. Going to attempt to make up a hard line like how GM did it back in the day .. Waiting for the pump to show up from Amazon .. Got a few other parts that I'm also waiting for .. These two items are mostly for dress ..- dragstews

Been many a moon since I worked on a W Series Big Block .. Buddy has a 61 Bubble Top Chevy with a 348ci in it .. He's wanting to go though it and get it back to looking like new again ... The car has really low miles on it, everything in the motor should still be at STD .. Fixing to find...- dragstews

With Fedex shipping came to $65 .. Has a lifetime warrantee, I liked that part .. Went to my buddy's shop next-door to mine, he had a Taiwan kit that got the plugs out of the back of the block ... They was 1/4" square, the plugs in the front was allen and put up a hell of a fight ... That's...- dragstews

Those dang oil gallery plugs are a PITA to remove from the block ... This tool works with a 1/2" impact gun .. Should be easy work without the words that would make a Preacher blush !! Whoa .... Kind of jumped the gun .. Had to cancel the order for this kickass tool .. Being my SS check is...- dragstews

The holes drilled in the cylinder bore is to stop the cracks from traveling ... Took another cut ( .050" over stock bore now ) just to throw some cutting powder on the cracks in order to allow me to see the cracks more clearly ..- dragstews

Well, wasn't wanting to do a sleeve but dealing with cracks got no choice in the matter .. Could install a straight sleeve but don't want to stress that hole with the amount of a press fit it needs to lock it in the bore .. A flanged sleeve would be ideal cause it's locked in by the head and...- dragstews

Almost done with the dipstick, lower bracket worked out nice, got the upper yet to do ... Got lucky with finding a 4-bolt main block for the 496" stroker motor build .. Had a blown up piston ... I kind of thought it would be junk with having the bore killed ... (Not really junk, could sleeve...- dragstews

Reworked the tube by adding another bend .. Tried a few inner sticks .. This one was too short by a few inches . Got super lucky with finding one that was dead nuts on the money .. 6 qts in the pan put the cold full level mark in the middle of the zone .. Did just a small amount of...- dragstews

Plumbed the oil sending unit .. It's the og 1954 IH, keeping all the stock gauges on line ... After all these years they still work ..- dragstews

The way I removed them is with a punch .. Hammer on one side to get them tilted in the bore then with vice grips pull them out of the block .. A few of them was so rusted that the punch broke though the wall .. Most certainly they was going to leak in a very short time if they wasn't replaced...- dragstews
