This makes 0 sense to me! Heater hose route

Hey man no worries. The 86 manual shows the path I describe as well. Plenty of variation thru the years, though so idk either...but if you think about the coolant flow on a std rotation water pump. Coolant goes from passenger tank (cold) to water pump (cold) to engine, thru engine to intake...

This makes 0 sense to me! Heater hose route

It IS an either or. On non auto vehicles it went manifold (hot side) to core, core to water pump (cold side) On auto vehicles it goes manifold to core, core to radiator, it does this to dump a little heat into the cold tank of the radiator where the trans cooler is to get the trans up to temp...

    steering box bolts

The spacer provides for proper stretch on the fastener to maintain clamping force. I've seen many people omit the spacer and deal with repeated loosening of the box.

This is the 90 diagram. Purple goes to the blower. If it's not hooked to anything that is your problem.

    87 blower motor

As far as I know there is only one wire that goes to the blower itself. If power is applied directly to the terminal on the blower motor itself it should run on high.

    Fixing Rear Leaf Springs

You might be able to get the ones you want from Amazon with free shipping if you're prime. Before I left CA last year I ordered all new springs for my blazer and got free shipping. Here's an example. A little more expensive but shipping is usually as much as the product now a days. Dorman...

    Double cardan ball

Once upon a time I had a shaft built for me with a gm 3r double cardan joint in it. Many years later I went to rebuild it and found that the ball on that one was not replaceable, and was in fact a part of the yoke. Bummer. Went down to the junkyard and found a 70s Cadillac with the right joint...

Rochester Carb tune ; Which is best method?

I've never had issues with the lean drop method. I have two small screwdrivers tucked away in the toolbox just for the mixture screws Lean drop is what the factory manuals specify.

    Well, Here We Go!!

Looks like a good starting point. Welcome to the "club". I really dig that siphon bulb in the fuel line. These trucks are pretty simple. Should be relatively easy to un-******* the jerry-rigging.

New guy with a ton of general questions...

First, figure out all the things you might want to add to the truck electrical wise to figure out how many circuits you'll need, then double it. I started out many years ago adding a pair of lights, then another pair of lights, then a cb (shows my age) then a backup lamp, then.......... Then I...

    Deleting emissions,read this article.

Biannual test exempt. Not smog exempt. That's the difference. There are still limits in place and they can pull you off the road to verify smog equipment is still in place on any vehicle since it is federal. Even though I had a CARB official openly admit that old cars add an insignificant...

    Deleting emissions,read this article.

And the EPA does actually do random on road sniffer tests. Had a club member 20 odd years ago get pulled over in nowhere San Diego county in his 72 blazer. Was handed a fist full of violations and spent the next 30 days collecting parts to put all the smog stuff back on so they wouldn't impound...

    Bilstein Shocks Bushing/Sleeve Question

Might want to check with the ORD guys but usually single fronts go in the other front shock position. That would make the angles better on the bushings.

    Axle swap help

Same as a brake job just six more nuts to get the spindle off. Besides you'd want to go through any donor axle anyway.

    Axle swap help

You'd have to swap everything from the spindles out. 74 used the first design small bearing and 84 used the post 75 second design. Stub shafts should be the same but inner axel shafts are different if I recall between an D44 and 10bolt.

    Axle swap help

And you'll want to use your existing calipers as 74 should have 7/16 banjo bolts and 84 should be 10mm.
