    Just found some time and switched the ignition back to the old stuff. No change. It was getting a little dark, so I took a flashlight and looked down the carb and the accelerator pump nozzles are not squirting. Bench testing previously, the squirted. Not sure what’s up.

    I took my 1406 edelbrock apart to clean it out. Is the accelerator pump usually real hard to press down? I probably still have something clogged. It idles but stumbles when I try to drive it. Or it’s the accelerator pump?

    I cleaned my tank and reinstalled it. It starts up and idles fine. But, hesitates off idle. I’ll have to take the carb off, again.

    I finally dropped my gas tank today and started cleaning it out. It had about five gallons in it. So, not too heavy.

    I guess this is considered memorabilia. Former NASCAR crew chief and team owner Ray Evernham’s 1/4 panel. It’s hanging on my wall. That’s a chubby face shaggy hair Ray sitting in front of his car.

    The trans got dropped off today at my buddies shop. I had to orchestrate this from a state away. But, the seller(a distant friend) delivered it. $250 saginaw 4 speed, bell housing and hurst shifter. I think a deal considering what shifters are going for. When am I bringing the truck up there...

    Yes, my Father actually taught him. This guys a machinist first, then a mechanic and fabricator. He has a street stock racecar and saves G body driveshafts. Maybe I’ll have him throw on some flowmasters , I hate my cherry bombs.

    Thanks. All good info. I’m going to have to make a driveshaft. Probably going to drop it off at my buddies shop. He has a lift and can make the driveshaft. May as well order a carpet.

    I just bought a saginaw 4 and hurst shifter. Someday I plan on converting my truck 4 speed to the car trans. Any info would be helpful. With pics. Thanks.

    I got a few wows. So, I’ll explain. I inherited this truck from my Father’s passing. There were people that didn’t think I should have the truck and apparently pulled some **** before I got it. I ran through one tank of gas in everything clogged. Easy fix.

    I rebuilt the Edelbrock carb, changed the fuel pump and did a cap, rotor and hi output coil. Now I have to drop the tank, if it ever stops raining. Suspected flour I guess in the tank. Pic of the carb

    My grandfather just turned 100. He sold his house last year and he had a Thomas Edison spark plug cleaner hanging on the wall. I think my cousin got it. I hope so.
